There is no better time to start something, then right now! 💫

One thing I am going to prioritize this month is taking my supplements and vitamins daily. It can be an easy thing to fall off the list but it’s a simple way to build better health and resistance to all the little plagues that are going around 🙄

Using warm water 💦 immersion during labor can reduce stress hormones and decrease pain sensation.

It directly reduces pain by increasing the body's natural pain relievers🌱 (endorphins) and can ease muscle tension that occurs with labor, allowing the mother to relax between contractions.😌

————• When it comes to professional organizations’ opinions on water immersion, all support water immersion during labor and birth for healthy, uncomplicated pregnancies. 🤰🏻

💕A personal side note:
I used water therapy for both of my labors and even though I didn’t have a full birth tub accessible to me, I sat on a stool in the shower and let the water flow over my lower back and abdomen. I remember feeling grateful for some pain relief during those heightened moments.
I wanted to have unmedicated, natural births and I believe that using water for pain relief was partial to the success in that happening.

💫EXCITING NEWS💫

I recently connected with owner, Jen, from and was sharing with her my vision for my upcoming workshop
✨Empowered Pregnancy & Birth✨

I told her I wanted a safe space for expecting couples to gather, learn and feel supported in their pregnancy and birth journeys.

I created this workshop because I got frustrated listening to mothers talk about birth from a place of fear.
Hearing each mother’s story of those pressured into induction, others encouraged to not trust their own wisdom or being told their babies are too big 🙄 and rushing to a c-section all got overwhelming.

So instead of growing bitter with society’s modern day approach, I decided to do something about it.

I am SO excited 🤩 to bring you an in-person workshop that is designed to empower and inform you to have an optimal pregnancy and birth.

📅 Starting September 11, this 7 week course will be offered in a beautiful space, where you can learn, grow ( and not just your bump 🤰🏻) and build community.

Swipe to see the space!

More details coming soon. 🥰

🤔 When should I start prenatal chiropractic care?

Short answer - as soon as possible! Starting care preconception is going to have the biggest impact 💫

Your nervous system is controlling the development of your baby’s nervous system.

———• Chiropractic care has a direct influence on the nervous system via the adjustment.

Pregnancy is a season of constant change and adaptation. Addressing stress early on allows you to stay ahead of it, you don't have to wait for problems or discomfort to show up!

It's never too early to start but that
doesn't mean hope is lost if you're already in your third trimester.

You can still experience positive changes and prepare for your birth in a shorter period of time.

Summer has been flying by so fast and I’m realizing there are more of you here on this page. I wanted to say hi 👋 and share some updates about what is going on in my life.

1. My little family of 4 took our vacation in July and lake living seems to be something that we want to do on repeat 🔁 We made so many great memories.

2. My oldest is starting kindergarten this year and I am not going to lie, I am terrified.
She seems to be excited and asks daily when it’s time to school. 🏫

3. Wedding planning is going mostly well, we only have a few more vendors to line up for our special day next summer. 😊

4. I am currently working on bringing the prenatal community another workshop of ‘Empowered Pregnancy and Birth.’ 🤰🏻
But this time it will be offered IN-PERSON!!!

I know we are all craving community and I’m still working out the details, but it is coming together. Stay tuned! ✨

Thank you all for being here. Your support means so much. 🥰

What has been your favourite memory of summer?

🤰🏻Fun Fact:

The ICPA says:
‘Optimal baby position at the time of birth also results in an easier labor and thus safer delivery for both mother and baby.’

But how? 🤔

The Webster Technique is a chiropractic technique specific for balancing the pelvis and sacrum of pregnant mothers.

Better alignment means baby has a better opportunity to assume the head down position before labor begins.

Did you know this was a thing? 🙋🏻‍♀️

✨NEW SERVICE✨

I’m very happy and excited to announce that I will now be offering in home check ups for newborns. 🏡 👶🏻

———• It’s always my recommendation to get your baby checked as soon as possible after birth to give them the best start to life.

However, I know that the first few weeks of life with a brand new baby are a bit exhausting and leaving the house can be a chore.

This service is to make that accessibility easier for families. 🥰

Home visits will be offered on Wednesday afternoons to start and I will cover Saskatoon, Warman and Martensville.

*** this service is only available to my current patients who I’ve seen throughout pregnancy.

If you want a well baby check in the comfort of your own home, DM me to set up a time! 💜

At the beginning of every single weekend day, chug the biggest glass of water you can possibly find. 🚰

People tend to drink more alcohol on the weekends (which is dehydrating), and we’re out of our regular routine on the weekends, which makes us less likely to drink the water we regularly do.

——————• Hydration is so important for your energy levels, digestion, mood, long-term health, eliminating cravings, exercise performance, skin, and so much more.

Don’t forget your water! 💦💦💦

365 days until we say ‘I do’

Many parents will research the best car seats, diaper creams, strollers, bottles/pacifiers and everything under the sun when it comes to having a baby.

We often give much less attention to the things than ultimately impact our children’s health.

All of these decisions require informed consent which means
—— you know the risks and benefits of any medical treatment and take into consideration what is best for you AND baby.

I highly recommend giving each of these some close thought and educate yourself so that you can make an empowered decision.

You do have the the right to choose!

Be sure to SAVE and SHARE this with an expecting mama! 🤰🏻

Getting outside in nature and letting your feet, hands or body touch the earth is one of the simplest ways to improve your health.

——• This is called grounding/earthing 🌱🦶

When the human body is connected to the surface of the earth, it has multiple health benefits for our physiology. 🤓 By feeling the earths surface, negatively charged electrons are transferred into the body.

Spending 10-30 minutes a day can strengthen the immune system and encourages the nervous system to be in a state of ease. 😌

The state of being ungrounded may look and feel different 👇🏻

• feeling burnt out
• body pains
• disrupted sleep patterns
• low energy
• increased stress or anxiety
• easily distracted or lack focus
• mood swings
• increased inflammation

Mother Nature is so cool. When the small nerves in our feet are touching the earths surface it naturally produces a parasympathetic response in the nervous system. 😊

Where are my barefoot people at? Raise your hand 🙋🏻‍♀️

Started from the bottom, now we here!

When I first graduated, I knew I wanted to see babies and kids. However I didn’t really think too much about what that looked like.

I’ve worked in 2 other clinics before Thrive and it’s amazing to me how these kiddos and families that I started with a few years ago, are growing and changing.

This transformation is one of my favourite things about my whole practice. Keeping families well adjusted year over year. 🥰

Thank you to all the parents who bring their kids and babies in to see me, it means the world 💜

Here for a reason, not just a season ☀️

Making the decision to put my well being first has opened so many doors for me. Also choosing to grow a platform using social media has allowed me to reach more people and do things I never thought possible.

I’ve always wanted to help women and moms have better quality of lives and support them while they grow their families.

Many ask me ‘how do you do that?’

1. I am a Chiropractor👩🏻‍⚕️which I believe is the best profession in the world. I get to help women in all stages of their lives from preconception, pregnancy and after birth. It’s extremely rewarding work.

2. I offer natural health solutions 🌱and educate my patients so they can make informed decisions for their own lives and their families.

3. I am a mother to two very active kiddos 👦🏼👧🏻and sharing how we stay healthy as a family is a passion of mine.

If you are wanting help with your health, let’s chat! I am here to offer guidance and solutions that are designed to support your overall wellness!

———• oxy•tocin 💫

‘the love hormone’ 💕

It is the hormone responsible for contractions during labor and for breast milk letdown. 🤱🏻

It’s also responsible for positive emotions like trust and happiness and can reduce stress 😊

——• Studies show that people who have natural oxytocin release regularly are healthier overall.

Swipe to see the natural ways to boost oxytocin ——>

FUN FACT
🍫🍫🍫 eating dark chocolate can release oxytocin in the body, especially when shared with someone you love.

(Ya, like that’s hard 😜)

Which methods could you not live without?!? No judgements!

05/05/2022

Emotional stress is something that can affect your ability to progress through labor normally or cause pre term labor to begin.

This stress causes the body to go into a sympathetic response —— fight or flight.

One technique I use in Chiropractic is called
‘Phillips Buckled Sacrum’.

What does it do?
• pulls the sacrum back toward the spine
• corrects imbalances of muscles
• takes pressure off the femoral arteries and nerves
• takes pressure off the cervix
• helps moms body get back into a parasympathetic state —— rest and digest

——•Applying gentle, low force movement to the sacrum has been shown to either stop contractions in the case of preterm labor and also may get contractions going again if there is problems with labor progressing.

This can also help you avoid the use of medications to stop or start labor.

You have options Mama.

Ask me at your next appointment if this is the right option for you!

It’s coming together…🥰

I’ve been working on something quietly the last few weeks and I’m excited to finally share some of the progress.

I’ve created an official ‘Birth Workshop’💜💜💜

The Goal:
To support and educate expectant parents as they they prepare for their upcoming births so they can make informed decisions that best suit their needs and wants.

——• Some amazing women and I will be sharing the rawness of birth, birth interventions, and life after birth.

You will hear from
- Myself (Chiropractor)
- 2 Doulas
- Lactation Consultant +
- Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist

I’m going to make this available via Zoom and it will be a 6 week program. It starts April 25th, 2022.

Registration coming soon! Stay tuned!!!💫💫💫

Hey there IG fam 👋

There has been quite a few new faces around here and I wanted to take the time to share some things about myself.

I am a prairies girl 🌾 through and through and will forever be mesmerized by a Sasky sunrise or sunset 🌅

I absolutely love supporting local businesses. ❤️They are what keeps our community thriving. And honestly their products are the best

I am currently planning my wedding for next summer. It’s not my favourite thing… but the groom makes up for it. 🤵🏻 Our wedding day will mark 7 years together.

I have an almost 3 and 5 year old racing around my house. They make me laugh and yell within the same minute. And they are teaching me more then I can even fathom.
Mostly patience...😝

I don’t drink coffee ☕️ … and apparently that’s mom juice. Anything caffeinated really isn’t my thing.

I love being warm and this translates into my home being between 21-23°C at all times.
The groom I mentioned above hates this. 😆

I lived near the Twin Cities 🏙 for almost 4 years to complete my doctorate. It was cool to soak up that life but 3 million people + 6 lane interstate highways made me appreciate my roots even more.

I am the baby of the family, with siblings who are 10 & 8 years older than me. One sister, one brother.

I’m addicted to house plants 🪴 but am running out of space to put them… so I’m manifesting a larger home. Why not, right?!?

I am passionate about life. I want to soak up all the goodness it has to offer. I spend much of my time pouring into my family, my patients and myself.

——• if you just started following me or have been for awhile, thank you for the support and love. 💕
This page has become a way for me to share my knowledge with you and hopefully put a smile on your face with my quirky personality.

Now tell me one thing about yourself in the comments.👇🏻

Wrist adjustments - you either love them or hate them.

But either way they can make a huge difference for improving mobility, reducing pain and restoring function.

Got questions? Let me know in the comments

Struggling with tight muscles?!?

Being mindful of your posture and moving your body are important for mobility but massage/lacrosse balls are a great way to relieve muscle tension.

Simply place the massage balls along either side of your spine, or place in a sock to create a ‘peanut’ 🥜 shape. This make is easier for rolling out a larger muscle.

——• these come in handy for almost any part of the body!

Try to keep your pressure to a tolerable level.
😮‍💨if you can’t breathe evenly as you roll, lighten up.

These are a must have for people who:
👉🏻are subject to repetitive postural strain (new moms, desk workers, students, cashiers, hairstylists)
👉🏻have muscles that spasm regularly.
👉🏻experience chronic stress.
👉🏻have sustained a whiplash or injury.

The postpartum journey is full of ups and downs, but here are 5 things that make the journey a little easier.

Having a support system during your postpartum experience is one of the most important things to have. I’m here to help— my treatment rooms are a safe space.

To all the moms out there or whoever needs to hear this: you’re enough and you’re doing great 💜

Finding the right spot to get checked doesn’t always mean it’s in the treatment room.

3 Things I love about being a woman

——• WE ARE STRONG 💪🏻

The fact that woman are able to birth children, run marathons, mentally and physically perform in their workplace and communities is astonishing.

——• WE GET S**t DONE💁🏻‍♀️

I personally love the fact that even on the off days, I know that I accomplished something small and worth celebrating, even if it’s just taking a shower.
We do a lot as women, and no one will ever convince me that it isn’t enough.
We are always enough!

——•WE ARE POWERFUL 💫

The raw power we have as women is insane, although we may not always realize it. The power to create any life we so choose, and define it on our terms.
Because when a woman is living in alignment with who she is, the world is a better place.

Happy International Women’s Day to all you goddesses. I celebrate along side you and support my sisters who are working to on what it means to be women! 💜💜💜💜
