I'm not anti-medication,
I'm pro-knowing-what-youre-taking-and-why.

I think that's what's called a weekend warrior? Or just me procrastinating studying and doing school assignments.
A relaxation massage is an art.
Relaxation is when you're able to let go, not have to think about anything and particularly for massage, allow the therapist to do their craft.
Many RMTs overlook relaxation massage because there's "no mechanical problem to fix." They think it's boring because it's just another massage. If you could only see the rolling of eyes that happen.
A therapist's ability to "quiet the storm" in your body is an incredible skill to have. It's the ability to have the flow and rhythm to provide a tranquil hour of hands on therapy while maintaining firm enough pressure that you're able to shut your brain off for at least a moment or two.
Stress is a perfectly good reason for a massage and a good RMT will know what to do.

The correct way to sum it up: I survived Guatemala. Barely. I'm happy I went, had some good experiences but am very happy to be back. My first task is to drink a gallon of sunscreen. Taking massage appointments again, soon.
Alright. Gonna go to Guatemala for August and will be back in the swing of things for September. School will be back in session and I'll be doing my regular days at Effect therapy on Sundays.
Looking forward to seeing all of ya when I'm back!
Wow. What an amazing night. Small group but fantastic to hear from fellow therapists and share ideas on the idea of chronic pain. Thanks everyone!

Because you see, massage is everything.
Massage can be catching up with buddies.
Meeting someone new.
Massage is re-establishing a connection with the most important person,
You.
Life is far too serious
We dont smile or laugh nearly enough.
Massage allows for healing
Your life has been pretty rough.
Take time for things you love
Life can be plenty serious.
My hope for you
Is you never stop being curious.
"if you ever get the chance to love a person who knows grief
Do not let them go.
You see, the thing about grief is that it's not exclusive,
It consumes life. It taints everything a little grey.
It won't hesitate to remind you that everything and everyone
Will disappear Someday.
But, I found that the people who carry grief
Love with a fierceness no one else knows
They understand what's at stake because they've had to let someone go.
So they remember the little things and they show up when it counts
They know that life is rare
You won't have to spell it out.
So don't take for granted the people who know loss
For they know more about love because they know what it costs."
-unknown
What if you were able to let go of what you're feeling?
What if you didn't have to struggle on a daily basis?
Many doctors and nurses get into the healthcare industry because they want to save lives.
What's overlooked is the amount of people that need "saving" from their lives as they know it. We don't have to wait until emergent situations to save lives. Being kind and compassionate can make the biggest difference in someone's life and can save them, even just for today.
Wearing a stethoscope is not the determinant in changing someone's life.
For the record, it's not just anxiety.
To follow one's dreams takes stepping outside of comfort zones.
Let me tell ya, I'm certainly not comfortable right now.
More to come, soon.
Isn't it incredible the power we hold in our hands.
Hands can show love, demonstrate hate, provide healing and comfort. Hands can be a sign of welcoming and trust. Isn't it something that people go to school for years, just to learn how to utilize their hands.
Massage therapy is the most important job one has. A client puts an hour of their life, energy and trust into your hands.
