An important update regarding the upcoming Sault Theatre Workshop show.
"Due to the unexpected and tragic passing of a cast member, Sault Theatre Workshop and Shot in the Dark will not be continuing with the fall production of Sweeney Todd. Full refunds for tickets already purchased are available at the Station Mall Box Office.
Sault Theatre Workshop will make an announcement in the coming weeks about their current season. Shot in the Dark will be taking a hiatus from theatre-making for the time being.
The cast and crew wish to extend thoughts and support to the family during this difficult time. With much love to our friend, we thank you for your understanding. "

The Sault Community Theatre Centre (SCTC) is excited to announce the call for nominations for the annual Friends of the Theatre Awards. This prestigious event recognizes and celebrates outstanding contributions to the local theatre community.
The Friends of the Theatre Awards honor individuals and organizations that have demonstrated exceptional dedication, support, and passion for the performing arts in Sault Ste. Marie.
Categories for nomination include:
- Outstanding Volunteer Service: Recognizing individuals who have generously given their time and effort to support the theatre.
- Excellence in Artistic Contribution: Celebrating artists, directors, designers, and other creative professionals who have significantly enhanced the quality of productions.
- Community Partnership Award: Acknowledging businesses or organizations that have provided substantial support to SCTC and the local theatre scene.
- Youth Achievement in Theatre: Highlighting the contributions of young individuals (under 18) who have shown remarkable talent and commitment to theatre.
"We are thrilled to open nominations for the Friends of the Theatre Awards," said Christopher Rous, Chair of the SCTC Board. "These awards are an important way to recognize and thank those who make our theatre community vibrant and dynamic. We encourage everyone to nominate those who have made a difference in our theatre family."
