It seems everyone has an opinion or a suggestion about how to deal with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. Try this diet. Eat this food. Don't do this thing. Try this herbal thing - it'll cure you. It's all in your head. It's the same as irritable bowel syndrome. Or you'll receive sympathy and hear a lot about how sorry they are that you're dealing with that - it must be so hard.
How do you handle the bad or misinformed "advice" or sympathy from those who aren't affected by IBD?
Share your thoughts in the comments! ⬇️

Congratulations, Caleb!!!
Caleb, diagnosed with Crohn’s at age nine, is a dedicated member of the IBD Community. This year, Caleb has been awarded the 2023 AbbVie Canada IBD Scholarship. Since 2015, he's raised $10,000+ for Crohn's and Colitis Canada through Gutsy Walk, also raising awareness through media interviews. He's benefited from programs like Camp Got2Go.
Despite his condition, Caleb's excelled in school and life. He represented Newfoundland and Labrador in national curling twice and will begin his mechanical engineering degree at McGill University in fall 2023. His long-term goal? A master's in aerospace engineering, proving nothing can hold him back.
