So what does reflexology have to do with my gut?

One of the most valuable benefits of reflexology
is improved bowel motility & function. Our innate stress response ("fight or flight") draws circulation away from the stomach which slows digestion. Reflexology signals the parasympathetic nervous system (our "rest & digest"') which directs circulation back to our trunk and it's vital organs. In this state you have improved absorption of nutrients which gives you the energy your vital organs needs to function optimally.

What is foot reflexology?

It’s an ancient therapy (like 2500 BC old🤯) that involves applying pressure to specific points in the foot that correlate to major organs/systems in the body. Activating these points brings increased flow of circulation and energy to the body coaxing it into a state of homeostasis for optimal functioning.

It’s an extremely relaxing therapy that has a multitude of benefits for improving symptoms of chronic disease or simply encouraging a beautiful balanced state.

My name is Amanda & I am the face behind Balanced Reflexology Room.

I have 15 years experience working in an acute hospital setting as a Respiratory Therapist and I am extremely grateful for the work I do and the way I am able to positively impact people’s lives during stressful periods of illness. That being said, I am frustrated with our culture of reactive medicine and am feeling drawn to natural, holistic modalities for preventative medicine. Once I experienced reflexology for myself I quickly fell in love with it and knew I needed to learn how to bring it into my family’s life.

My hope is to show you the amazing benefits of reflexology and to see you on my table to help bring relief, ease and balance to your body.
