On this day, we should remember those affected by the residential school system and grieve in remembrance of those who were lost. In addition, this day creates opportunities to learn more about indigenous cultures and perspectives.

We can move forward in truth and reconciliation to a better future together through learning.

On September 23rd, and the well-loved orca showed up in town to visit and spend time with the Okanagan Indian Band Youth members during the HockeyBall Program partnership kickoff event. The 6-week Canucks HockeyBall Program expects to create a safe and enjoyable sporting experience for OKIB Youth throughout the school year.

It was an exciting day for OKIB Youth to bond, learn and play hockey alongside their coaches and crew.

To work and build connections with such esteemed organizations was a wonderful experience. It was both an honour and pleasure to document this event!

This week, we visited the Sts’ailes community in Agassiz, BC, where our team, led by Rod Brathwaite and Greg Beaudin, met with Jeremy Dool and his incredible community leaders. Together, we’re gearing up to launch an exciting after-school program for kids aged 6-16, starting in early September!

We’re all about inclusion, participation, and making sure everyone has a blast in a safe environment. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to grow across the province! 💙

Keeping the game growing! Rod Brathwaite and the HockeyBall crew were out in the community again this week, spreading the love for hockey! 🏒❤ This week’s adventure took us to the Okanagan Indian Band in Vernon, where we had a blast helping kids stay active and develop their motor skills.

Huge shoutout to Brendon Caron, Senior Youth Recreation and Healthy Activities Coordinator, the amazing Okanagan Indian Band community, and Greg Beaudin and the HockeyBall team for making this visit such a success! 🙌🎉

much competition and fun was had at the Canadian National Wheelchair Floorball /Hockeyball Championships- it’s such a blast playing and reffing in this event and we are on a mission to see this grow across North America and beyond.
