Our Story
We are a community based organisation that provides food assistance and advocates self-reliance by providing case management, emotional support, youth development and capacity building. Our core values are Respect, Collaboration, Confidentiality, Integrity and Humility and we aim to be a sustainable organization that promotes education, empathy and dignity through holistic interventions.
This is an organization in the community, that opens the doors for people in need to seek help. We're always looking for opportunities to serve humanity and seek volunteers and donations actively!
Muslim Food Bank and Community Services Society (“MFBCS”) has two divisions. The Food Bank division includes the Food Bank Operations which provides food hampers that are catered to specific dietary needs (vegan and religious dietary restrictions), Refugee Support Program and Table Spread – feeding the homeless in Downtown Eastside in Vancouver - muslimfoodbank.com. Refugee Support Program has several initiatives including providing Welcome baskets (food hampers), Toileteries bags and baby items to all newly arrived refugees. The program also coordinates the provision of clothing, blankets, school supplies, furniture, cellphone sim cards, computers, accompaniments and translation services to help the newly arrived refugees to settle down. The programs under the ASPIRE Community Services division are ASPIRE Case Management, ASPIRE Training Institute (Capacity Building), Youth Support for Substance Use and Mental Health, Safe Space and Prison Outreach.

ASPIRE Community Services (Actualizing Self Reliance by Providing Inspiration, Resources & Education) aims at promoting client development and independence. We recognize the challenges that clients face in supporting themselves by focusing on three core areas: education, employment and community support. By acting as liaisons between clients and readily available resources in Metro Vancouver, volunteer caseworkers empower clients as they navigate their way to a brighter future.
