Sabrina Hou and Cheyenne Laatsch ran the half marathon and Sabrina Wilkie blazed through the full marathon in under three hours! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🔥Way to be active role models!

Our team gathered on the weekend for an evening of food and fun to celebrate another great year of serving our community. Remember to keep your body moving this holiday season 🎅

Meet Laura from our front desk. She has 2 boys who love to fight over Lego or whatever the older one thinks is cool to play with. When she’s not working and mom’ing, she’s resting and if she’s lucky booked herself a little R&R at the spa 🧖‍♀️.

Meet Dan, one of our Physiotherapists. He loves watching the NFL, (the Saints is ‘his team’) and he enjoys working with all athletes to move their body better.

When she’s not in the clinic she’s most likely enjoying sushi 🍣, horse back riding or watching a fun flick. 🎥

Last weekend, Physiomoves sponsored a Cyclocross race in South Surrey 🚴‍♂️

Over 200 racers from around the province came to compete. Thankfully, we only had to take care of few abrasions and had a great time cheering on the racers!!

Tyler even competed in the "super masters" category!

Micah may be a familiar face for our Panorama patients! She has worked in reception at Physiomoves, and we are thrilled to have her join the team as a Kinesiologist.

Micah Bernal completed her Bachelor’s in Kinesiology with an Exercise Science concentration at The University of the Fraser Valley. During her education, she volunteered at Kids Physio Group where she shadowed Physiotherapists in learning how to assist children with various movement patterns and gait. 

Micah works as a professional training coach in South Surrey where she helps clients with weight loss, general health, and fitness goals. In high school, Micah fell in love with weightlifting, and she encourages her clients to participate in resistance training because of its many benefits. Micah’s primary goal as a trainer is to ensure each program is tailored specifically to the individual. Micah has a particular interest in getting people moving on a regular basis and hopes to make patients feel confident and secure in their movement patterns.

On the weekends Micah likes to play volleyball with her friends, play tennis with her dad, and has recently picked up pickleball. She is a regular at the gym, and enjoys working on a combination of powerlifting and body building.

Last week, Tyler Dumont was at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad and Tobago as the team physiotherapist for the track and field athletes!

He spent the week working with an incredible team, treating athletes and ensuring they were healthy and ready to compete. Watching the Canadian athletes compete at an international level was an extraordinary experience 🇨🇦

This past weekend, Tyler had the honor of being part of the therapy team supporting our Team BC track and Field athletes at the National Championships in Langley!

It was great for him to contribute to an amazing team and to see the many successes of our BC athletes 🎉

Please welcome Amrit to Physiomoves as our newest Registered Massage Therapist!

Amrit graduated from CDI College in 2022. He has worked with a variety of patients and conditions including neurological and motor disorders. Amrit understands massage therapy is essential for injury prevention, and overall wellness. His compassionate approach to tailor to the patients needs provides a soothing and high quality treatment.

Amrit has a diverse arsenal of treatment modalities from deep tissue, Swedish relaxation, joint mobilizations, neuromuscular facilitation, myofascial, and muscle energy therapy. He is passionate about helping patients meet their goals and achieve functional freedom.

Born and raised in the beautiful city of Squamish, Amrit enjoys hiking and spending time in nature 🏔️

Amrit is available for Registered Massage Therapy appointments on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursdays from 9am-5pm at Panorama through the month of July!

Physiotherapist Dan Stapleton assisted his patient Jason with rehabilitating his Achilles tear that was sustained in a basketball injury. Jason did every rep and set everyday that was prescribed to him 👏

Now, Jason is back hiking mountains with his friend Kenny, our massage therapist 🏔

We are excited to introduce the newest physiotherapist of our Physiomoves Family: Elizabeth Yee!

Elizabeth graduated from the University of the Fraser Valley with a Bachelor of Kinesiology in Exercise Science. She then worked in a rehabilitation setting before returning to school and completing her Master of Physical Therapy degree at the University of British Columbia 🎓

Elizabeth is passionate about continuing education 📖, and has completed courses in the Mulligan concept, Kinetic Link Training and specialized courses on working with runners 🏃‍♀️. She also holds her Level 1, Level 2 Upper & Lower, and Level 3 Lower Orthopaedic Manual Therapy certification, with plans to pursue further training in this area 📚. She has completed the Dry Needling Program through Acupuncture Canada.

Elizabeth utilizes exercise, manual therapy, and education to help patients reach their therapeutic goals. Elizabeth's clinical passions involve sports and orthopaedic physical therapy. She has a multitude of experience working with athletes, specializing in working with hockey players ranging from the recreational to professional level 🏒. Elizabeth is also an avid member of her local CrossFit gym, and has a passion working with CrossFit athletes 🏋️‍♀️. She also enjoyed her experience as a dance instructor, specializing in ballet as well as strength and conditioning for competitive dancers 🩰.

Outside of the clinic, you can find Elizabeth sweating in a CrossFit Workout of the Day 🏋️‍♀️, hitting the pavement on a run, or cheering on the Vancouver Canucks 💙. She has run a number of half-marathons, and completed the BMO Vancouver Marathon in 2017 🏃‍♀️.

Our Kinesiologist, Nicole, graduated with her Masters of Kinesiology from UBC this month 🎓🎉

During her degree, she did her field studies with the Canadian Sport Institute, was a graduate assistant S&C coach with UBC Varsity Athletics, and a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the school of Kinesiology.

We are proud to see the incredible work Nicole does at our clinic and in the community 💙🧡

Congratulations to our Ocean Park massage therapist Kenny’s patient, John, for qualifying for the Boston Marathon this past weekend in Eugene Oregon 🏅🏃‍♂️
