Prairie Sky Region
A regional partnership between the RM’s of Swift Current, Webb, and Sask. Landing forming the Prai
Rm of Swift Current. has implemented an fire ban effective immediately. This includes all back yard fires, garbage pits, tree piles etc. Please spread the word, we are in extreme fire danger and we need everyone to pay attention to what they are doing.
Reminder: Road bans are currently active in the RM of Saskatchewan Landing due to the warm temperatures - at this time the roads are restricted to 3,000 kg (6,600 lbs) total vehicle weight. For more information call the office at 1-306-778-2105 — call volumes are high at this time.

RMSCFD responded at approximately 7:07pm to a motorcycle accident on highway #1, east of Swift Current. One individual was cared for, and transported by Swift Current Ambulance to Cypress Regional Hospital. The individual was eventually airlifted by Stars from the hospital.
A coordinated, organized, and collaborative approach by several agencies led to the successful management of this incident.
Great work from Swift Current Ambulance, City SC RCMP Detachment, Swift Current Rural RCMP Detachment, Lowcost towing, Department of highways, Prairie Sky Community Safety Officer, Stars Air Ambulance, and our own members of the RMSCFD.
Have you heard about the latest craze of "wine ninja’ing"?
We understand the general sentiment and intent of the social media group, but as a Police Service, we strongly urge you to proceed with caution. The groups, while they may be private, are large in numbers and encourage you to post your home address in the hopes of receiving gifts. Many continue to include further details about their families members (including kids) and other personal details.
In a perfect world, we would all like to believe that everyone is there for the right reasons, but unfortunately that isn’t always the case.
Please, use common sense and think about the dangers associated to posting your home address online for everyone to see.
We’d like to take this time to remind everyone that spring road bans are in effect in all three of our RM’s. To calculate your trucks allowable weight use the following formula:
Tire Width (inch) * 350lb * number of tires
This will give you the maximum allowable weight in lbs per axle of the truck. Fines for overweight trucks start at $2,000.00 plus an additional $15.00 per 50kg over.
Please do your part to keep our roads in good condition and avoid hefty fines.
