In observation of the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, our offices will be closed. We proudly support our team members who are taking part in the many activities throughout our community, exploring the rich and diverse cultures, voices, experiences, and hearing stories of the first peoples of the land.

As we all take time to reflect on the tragic and painful history and the ongoing impacts of residential schools, we renew our commitment to this vital component of the truth and reconciliation process.

This National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we encourage you to listen and reflect on the stories and teachings of Indigenous communities.

September 30, 2022, marks the second National Day Truth and Reconciliation Day, a day that coincides with Orange Shirt Day. It recognizes the tragic legacy of residential schools, the missing children, the families left behind, and the survivors of these institutions.

Today, we wear orange shirts to recognize the resilience of Indigenous peoples and communities and encourage discussions that offer recognition and support.
We are continually seeking ways to engage and honour Indigenous perspectives in our organization and support our respective journeys with reconciliation. One of those ways we are engaging is to develop an organizational library with some suggested titles provided to us through our journey.
• 21 Things You May Not Know About the Indian Act by Bob Joseph
• Clearing the Plains by James Daschuk
• Speaking Our Truth - A Journey of Reconciliation by Monique Gray-Smith
As we build our library, we want to know from you - what books have helped you with your personal journey that we can at to our collection?
