Usually at the end of a season we like to explode a bottle of champagne all over ourselves. We didn’t have a bottle of champagne so a beer from took its place.

Thanking everyone for their support this year would be premature. While we are temporarily closed we wanted to let everyone know we will be back very soon. Subscribe to our emails, or continue to follow us here for updates ❤️🍉🍑🍊🍓🥭🥑

Pawpaw

The fruit that brings us together and tears us all apart. Please do not throw a fit if you miss out on the first pick. We will get more later in the week!

We are limiting customers to 1lb until we can get more. Please be patient with us. Good things come to those who wait.

Sincerely

Kiwano (or Horned Melon)

It’s strange, but cool. Like your uncle who has a secret basement full of birds. Help us make them even stranger by adding them into your kid’s lunchboxes.

Starting off grape season with three seedless varieties:

1. Canadice
2. Sovereign Coronation
3. Himrod

^All real names, by the way. We didn’t make any of these up. Not even “Himrod.”

The only thing that would make the Black Amber plum cooler would be if the colours were reversed 🤯

Black Amber plums are juicy and higher in antioxidants than your average plum. Great for throwing as well.

Wild 🦞 Mushrooms

Tastes like Lobster and looks like a broken, rusty cartoon trumpet. Cut it into slices and BAM, you have what looks like cut up Cajun chicken. Sauté in some butter, or make yourself a nice vegan lobster bisque.

Some of the fun & funky mushrooms that Ontario farming has to offer 🍄

1. Coral Tooth
2. Blue Oyster
3. Lions Mane
4. Maitake

Apparently we can never have enough varieties of cucumbers.
1. White Dutch
2. Salt & Pepper
3. Green
I guess no one wanted to give #3 a cool name.

The Vampire Plum got its name for obvious reasons. But is it obvious? Vampires are usually really pale. They also hate the sun. These plums are red and love the sun. They are from this point on called DJ Paulie D Plums.

Cherry Plums or “Nadia Plums”

It’s safe to say this plum will have your mouth saying “hey, is this a cherry or is this a plum?” And then your brain will chime in and say “it’s both, mouth!” Then you will stop them both and say “well actually, it’s a plum that just really tastes like a cherry.” Then the three of you can enjoy these plums knowing you’re all right and all happy you tried one.

Why do we keep buying pickles when we know making them is the easiest thing to do? We even sorted through them so you have three sizes to choose from.
1. “Timmy” is a small cucumber. Perfect for just eating whole while you’re body is in full paralysis watching Lord of the Rings for the 30th time.
2. “Timothy” is a bit bigger. A little more mature, but in that awkward phase of life when they’re not small and cute, but also not big enough to have their opinion taken seriously at the dinner table.
3. “Tim” is all grown up. Has some shady opinions on some things, but ultimately a good salt of the earth type guy. This cucumber is great for slicing and pickling. Or pickle it whole if you enjoy the big fat pickles.

We don’t know why we want to call White Cherries “Disco Cherries.” Maybe it’s because on Fridays we blast disco all day at the warehouse. Or maybe it’s their flashy and sweet nature.

White Cherries are in from Niagara AND they’re on sale. Sweet peach-like texture and refreshing flavour just like like Barry Gibb’s lips.

07/13/2022

The baddest bi***es in all of Niagara came to play.

Tayberries are back! Out in the wild these little clusters of funk are called Loganberries. Cultivated we call them Tayberries. They are a natural blackberry x raspberry hybrid and are famous for tingling your senses, then making you wait a year to try them again.

The Red Currant is a cultivated fruit and proud member of the Gooseberry family. So widely cultivated that it has escaped into the wild in some places. Which is great because there are probably a thousand other tiny berries that look exactly like it which will murder you.

About 75 years ago your grandparents planted in their backyard. You would go visit them and while your parents and grandparents watched Murdoch Mysteries you played outside. In June and July you would see these growing. You tried one once and it sucked all the moisture out of your mouth, leading you to experience your first ever “am I dying moment.” Flash forward to present day - let us reintroduce the Goosberry to you.

Option 1: eat it. If you like sour.

Option 2: bake it, make jam, or a reduction.

Option 3: our personal favourite. Muddle it into a gin or vodka soda drink for a 100% Ontario sour kick to your drank.

Organically grown New Red Potatoes from Jordan Station are in and have been sorted through so you can get the size ya want for the meal you will eat. Sizes range from “Gum Ball” to “Jawbreaker.”

Organic Garlic Scapes, or Forest Spaghetti (not a thing) is in from Fenwick, ON. Some say garlic scapes are just some silly trend invented by the world’s most tattooed chef, but neither of these things are true. Scapes are simply amazing and incredibly versatile. Go ahead. Google them; we’ve said enough.

Ontario June Berries are simply put: just better. They’re soft. They’re juicy. They melt in your mouth. They remind you of a simpler time. They cure your anxiety. They tuck you in at night. They make you breakfast. They drive you to work. They pay off your student loans. They buy you a Tesla. They’re just great, good folk.

Ontario Raspberry season starting is like going to a party hosted by Strawberries then Raspberries show up at midnight with a keg and change the music. All hail the better late than never party crashers.

Let’s have ourselves a tropical hootenanny. Rambutan. Yellow Dragon Fruit. Peruvian. Kent. Mango. Get your fruit in you now so you can make poor health choices all weekend.

The first pick of Ontario Field Strawberries is the best day of year. Well, it’s the best day up until the first pick of Raspberries. That’s the best. Well, actually, that’s only the best day until Peaches. Hmmmm. Golden Raspberries? Doughnut Peaches? I think we can all agree there’s some great days to come. Pawpaw.

New Mango Alert

The Dingli Mango, a.k.a. Part 2 of our Thin Pit Series. You can call it The Two Towers, or Escape from Guantanamo Bay. Whatever your favourite movie trilogy is you can count on us finding a third thin pit variety to close this story up.

Fresh B.C. Wild Morels are here! Squeeze them onto your cats feet for a fashionable pair of boots, or eat them!

Finally, a mango with a pit the size of 8 playing cards stacked together. I’m sorry that this is the best metaphor we could come up with.

Well, well, well. Look who decided to show up.
