Joining my fellow Toronto highland dance studios for the St Patrick's day parade was awesome... and while I loved rocking my full kilt outfit again, I got a wee bit jealous seeing dancers from the other studios wearing logo'd jackets... so I reached out to the wonderful women of and started the process to be able to order studio wear from them!

These are the first mock ups of what our logo will look like... and I'm stoked to be able to order some gear soon!!!

Sneak peak at my "day job" as a COO for hire:

I was writing my notes for sundays dance class, and realized I was writing almost the exact same thing as last week... which happens a lot, especially will the wee ones and/or when learning a new dance.

First I lamented the wasted time/paper/ink to keep writing out the same thing... then my COO brain switched on!

What if I made a spreadsheet! Then I could just checkmark each week!

And so, I created one... which became multiple for the different levels! So much future time saved!!

What's something you find yourself doing over and over? How about stopping the repetition and saving your future self precious minutes / hours / days ??

What is your families tartan?
On my mother's side I'm a Hay... and for most of my childhood I rocked our families tartan... the ancient version. No red based tartan for me, nope I got to wear orange...
I'm proud to be a Hay... and I was also very grateful when I needed a bigger kilt and my mom bought me a blue one!

Of course it would be wonderful to visit a warm and tropical island... and take me to the highlands first! Who's with me?

This is what dance should always be about... enjoying moving to the music, doing your thing.

Catching up on my notes from yesterdays lesson, and realized it was almost two years ago since I taught my last class :( While it's taken time... it was so much fun to be teaching again!

And yes, I keep notes 😉 my brain has so much to keep track of, my notebook makes sure we cover everything each dancer needs for their next exam / competition / personal goals!

Today Lily joined me for country dance class for the first time! ... and was far more interested in chewing her bone. Then she got very confused why I was moving back and forth, back and forth, so she decided to sleep... while she made my dance floor smaller, we made progress towards her being an in-studio dog one day! Next adventure... highland hustle!

The holiday season can be a sad and lonely time for young people involved in the child welfare system who don’t have the love and support of a permanent family. The COVID-19 pandemic has compounded the already profound challenges faced by vulnerable populations, such as food, housing and income insecurities as well as mental health challenges, making this year’s holiday season especially difficult.

With the support of donors like you, the Holiday Season Celebration provides an opportunity for at risk children and youth to feel celebrated and part of a larger community during the holidays. Thank you again for your gift, it ensures at risk children and youth know they are thought of during this season of giving.
