Charted: The Global Decline of Fertility Rates Since 1950, global fertility rates have decreased steadily. Now. the average woman has less than 3 children on average.

I love seeing my patients “graduate” our clinic. Often, it’s bittersweet as I really develop a bond and friendship with my patients over the course of their treatment. I always secretly hope they will come back and visit me so I can see the beautiful kids we worked together to “CREATE!”

This patient is a special one, we worked hard for her kids, thinking outside the box and putting our heads together to determine what would work best for her individual case. And we never lost HOPE and knew she would succeed!

Thank you for bringing your family back to Create and for reminding me what a special journey of Hope this was!

Happy Mothers Day & a special message from Dr Prati A. Sharma :
Being a Mom has been on of my greatest privileges, and being able to help those that want to be a mom is such an honor and I am grateful for my profession that has allowed so many people to become moms thanks to science and Reproductive Medicine.

On this Mother’s Day, I am grateful for my children and the ability to raise them but I also see my infertility patients who struggle to become Mothers. To all of you, I see you, my heart is thinking of you and my life and work is dedicated to your goal of becoming a Mom. For those who want to be Moms in the future and are preserving your fertility in advance, kudos on being forward-thinking and planning your future.

To those who have lost a Mom, lost a child or have strained relationships with their mom or to those who simply decide not to choose motherhood I see all of you too, my heart breaks for your losses and I support your choices.

Dr Prati A. Sharma who is a leader on the Canadian CFAS COVID task force and on the CFAS board of directors wrote this statement with the help of the COVID task force members. 📝

According to the most recent CFAS Statement:
"At present, we strongly recommend COVID-19 vaccination for all people aged 12 or over, including people who are pregnant, trying to conceive, or lactating. The data supports that the benefits of receiving the COVID-19 vaccine far outweigh any potential risks of vaccination on pregnancy or reproductive outcome. All pregnant people at any gestational age, including the first trimester, are eligible for vaccination and should be vaccinated as soon as possible.”

Times are changing but conditions must be managed accordingly!

These days, more people are choosing to delay pregnancy for a number of personal reasons, but financial concerns and career progress are the two most common.

This may be why Canada didn't have the pandemic baby boom that experts expected. But Dr. Sharma from Create Fertility Centre says that thanks to the pandemic, Canadians now have babies on the brain like never before.
