Today, the Ontario government announced it will be investing $150 million over two years to expand the Ontario Fertility Program as well as implementing a fertility tax credit beginning in 2025.
We applaud the provincial government’s renewed commitment to increasing much needed access to fertility care and know first hand how impactful this will be for so many people in Ontario who are trying to grow their family.
“As a former fertility patient, I know from my own experience how meaningful these resources and funding will be for so many Ontarians. Since Twig began, we have always been strong advocates for better access to fertility care. This incredible support from the government will bring so much progress to the province and joy to countless families.”
-Tanner Kohara, Co-founder
As a clinic, as care providers and as patients ourselves, we commend the Ontario government for recognizing the importance of affordable fertility care and look forward to working together to improve accessibility and continuing to put patients first. Thank you to all the policymakers, advocates, care providers and patients that were fundamental in making this happen.
Pregnancy and infant loss is a profound journey for parents. One that connects so many and at the same time, one that can feel intensely lonely. It’s a story we share too.
To the families who have experienced this loss, your grief is valid, your pain is heard, and your love endures beyond measure.
Tonight in solidarity, we will light candles at 7pm as part of the to mark Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. Sending love to anyone in our community who's experiencing this day intimately - we see you and know that you are never alone.
