Sveti Sava Oplenac

Hello our dancers and parents, we are excited to announce that a new dance instructor, Nick Kopač will be joining St. Sava Oplenac Folklore Ensemble!
This new season we will have practice on 2 days, Thursday and Sundays!
Our first practice and registration will start on Thursday September 5th, 2024.
Children age 3-6 @5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
Children age 7-13 @ 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Children age 14 - 22 @ 7:30 - 9:30 p.m.
Also on Thursday Sept 5th, we do welcome Adults 22+ (Alumni group) for the registration

Additional practice on Sundays, starting from September 15th but only for:
- Children age 14-22 @ 6 -8 pm
- Alumni group (Age 22+) @ 8-10 pm

➡𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗸𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝘂𝗽𝗮 „𝗦𝘃𝗲𝘁𝗶 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗮“ na Oplencu osnovana je 1974. godine. Počeli smo u crkvi Svetog Save na River St, u Torontu. Grupa se potom preselila u Misisaugu. 🇷🇸🔴🔵⚪

➡Naša grupa nosi ime Svetog Save. Bio je poznat kao Prosvetitelj, bio je srpski knez i pravoslavni monah, prvi Arhiepiskop Srpske Crkve. 🇷🇸🔴🔵⚪

➡Povezani smo sa Srpskom pravoslavnom crkvom Svih Svetih. Mi smo neprofitna organizacija. Imali smo sreću da su stotine i hiljade dece i odraslih prošli kroz njegovu salu tokom godina, i izveli stotine događaja širom Severne Amerike i Evrope. Nastavićemo da održavamo taj duh živim i sada, i za naredne generacije. 🇷🇸🔴🔵⚪

➡The St Sava Oplenac folklore group was started in 1974. We started at St. Sava Church on River St, in Toronto. The group then moved to Mississauga. 🇷🇸🔴🔵⚪

➡Our group is named after Saint Sava. He was known as the Enlightener, was a Serbian prince and Orthodox monk, the first Archbishop of the Serbian Church. 🇷🇸🔴🔵⚪

➡We are affiliated with the All Saints Serbian Orthodox Church. We are non-profit organization. We have been fortunate enough to have had hundreds & thousands of children & adults come through its hall over the years, and has performed hundreds of events throughout North America & Europe. We will continue to keep that spirit alive going forward as well now, and for the next generations. 🇷🇸🔴🔵⚪

➡The tradition of singing, dancing and joy continues today with young and old alike. 🇷🇸🔴🔵⚪

➡Our group was original as part of the St. Sava Church in Toronto, and moved to Mississauga to be a part of the All Saints Serbian Orthodox Church.

➡The tradition continues with a common spirit and pride that moves on from generation to the next, through volunteers, dancers, and teachers. 🇷🇸🔴🔵⚪

➡Naša grupa je prvobitno bila deo crkve Svetog Save u Torontu, a preselila se u Misisagu da bi postala deo Srpske pravoslavne crkve Svih Svetih.

➡Tradicija se nastavlja zajedničkim duhom i ponosom koji se prenosi s generacije na generaciju, preko volontera, plesača i učitelja. 🇷🇸🔴🔵⚪

➡The money that we earn and the things that we buy make us our living. What we give to others and use to better the world gives us life. A living is something we do to create the life that we want.
