Can you guess, which workout gained enormous following, the plethora of celebrity endorsements and Instagram influencers rave about? Yes, you guessed it right - Pilates. Be it on Reformer, Megaformer, Springwall or Mat, we cannot get enough of it. However, dispute its global popularity there are still an ample amount of common misconceptions that stop people from giving it a chance.

🎲HOW DO YOU PICK A CLASS AT A STUDIO/GYM? 🎲
With the amount of studios and classes available it is very easy to get overwhelmed, distracted and confused. Options are great! And you would think the more, the better. However, I am pretty sure that an abundance of options derails your workout regiment. Don’t get me wrong, I love checking out new studios and cool new workouts, yet when it comes to my week to week routine, I stick to a predetermined (some might say boring) schedule. Here are a few thing which help me to build my workout schedule:
📌Have a clear fitness goal,
📌Make sure to have a variety of activities/classes,
📌Sign up in advance and block this time in your schedule,
📌Find instructor/studio you enjoy coming back to.

DO YOU NEED MOTIVATION OR A HABIT?
For those keeping track, it is Monday, so let’s get motivated to crash our goals this week! Sounds great, right? Yet it is not as easy as it sounds. Motivation is an emotion which recedes sooner than anticipated without getting you anywhere. Of course, you can be pumped with motivation for a few weeks, however, it also will fade away. Habit on the other hand is a behaviour that is repeated regularly. So what to do? There are multiple approaches you can take in getting motivated and creating habits, here are a few things which helped me to get started or continue pushing forward:
🤜🏻Use motivation as a fuel to create a habit,
🤜🏻Set small and achievable goals,
🤜🏻Make a conscious choice to do or not to do something,
🤜🏻Have a clear trigger - action - reward path.
There is no magic pill or secret recipe, you need to find what works for you and develop your own system. You know yourself better than I or any other Instagram guru do. Find what drives you and get moving team.

I love my Reformer and have been taking Reformer classes for years. The power, the resistance and the challenge that the machine provides is awesome. Depending on a class, Reformer sessions can get pretty sweaty. THE CLASSICAL PILATES DILEMMA
I love my Reformer and have been taking Reformer classes for years. The power, the resistance and the challenge that the machine provides is awesome.
When I took my first Mat class, I did not get the buzz. Only after completing my Mat training, I realized that I have zero body awareness and most Mat exercises are exceptionally hard. Try to do 10 teasers in a row with precision and control! Understanding Mat work definitely helped me to get stronger and push my Reformer and gym training to a totally different level.
As with any type of exercise, you need to find what works for you and have fun with it. There are obvious benefits in incorporating both Reformer and Mat training into your routine. My suggestion is to try and be open minded. Sometimes it takes a few attempts to click. 😉

FULL-BODY OR BODY-PART FOCUSED TRAINING? 🧐
There is no right answer to this question 😄 It all depends on multiple variables, including:
🥊How much time do you have?
🥊 What are your workout goals?
🥊 How organized are you with your training?
🥊Do you prefer more or less-intense workout?
No matter what routine you pick, I’ve got you covered 😉 In my classes we will work your whole body and will keep things interesting by adding exercises for a specific body part.

⚡️Getting the most out of every session is possible, you just need take a second, stop, and check your form. ⚡️
Working out feels amazing! Nothing can beat that post workout feeling of accomplishment and sweaty glow. Yet when our form sucks, no matter how hard we workout, all our efforts can do more harm than good. Instead of getting stronger and leaner, you get overstrained muscles, tears and acute injuries. Poor form might not cripple you right away, but it definitely will delay your progress for months.
The 3 exercises I picked today have the same theme and can be performed at home or at the gym. Did you notice which body part suffers the most? Do you engage wrong muscles to get more reps in? Try, and let me know if you felt a difference in your from 🙌🏻

Abs and core are the two most commonly used terms when it comes to fitness and exercising. How many times have you heard or said yourself - I have a weak core OR I want strong abs. Sounds familiar, right?
