Im now busier than ever. Yoga classes, corporate yoga sessions and of course taking the time out to relax my mind and enjoy my own growth. Some things are better left undocumented.
However my journey continues. More refreshed, balanced and flexible.

Core core core!! That’s my new chant in 2021.
Strengthening your core is one of the basics in yoga. Transitioning between postures is relatively easier with a stronger core. Infact, your body form is more perfect now, adding to the flexibility.
The third chakra (Sonal plexus / Manipura chakra) that is connected to your core, is the center of your power and will. And so it is befitting to say that a person with a strong core would be more confident in themselves.
So if you’re struggling to find the strength and confidence to be you, consider these practices to balance the third chakra.
We all have a lot of adjectives to describe 2020 don’t we? But most of all its been a year well done. A memorable one too.
Take a good look at yourself and applaud.

Is Ginger Tea good for you??
Ginger tea (with or without milk), is your go-to drink whenever you want to relax and rejuvenate.
Right from treating cold & cough to various digestion related ailments, ginger works wonders.
Its a fantastic immunity booster and helps fight respiratory issues. Ginger lowers blood pressure and improves blood circulation. It lowers your cholesterol and reduces stress levels.
Ladies ladies, ginger tea is that magic potion that relieves menstrual discomfort and inflammation. Works like a charm every time, for me.
In fact, to an extent, ginger tea has almost double the benefits when paired with green tea.
Too much of anything isn’t good either. Excess consumption of ginger can increase bile production and also lead to constipation.
So how much is too much?
A maximum of 3–4 grams of ginger extract per day, say about an inch and half or so. If you're pregnant, don't consume more than 1 gram of ginger extract per day. Kids under the age of 2 should avoid it.
⭐️ My favourite Ginger Tea Recipe:
Thinly slice fresh ginger(organic preferably) 1 inch / per cup of tea.
Add the ginger & water in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
Simmer for 5 minutes.
Pour the tea through a sieve, in a cup. Add a few drops of lemon juice for some complementary acidity.
You might also appreciate a light drizzle of honey or maple syrup, to temper the fiery ginger flavor.
In addition to the many health benefits, you can simply sit back with a warm mug, breathe in, sip slowly, and enjoy the weather.

Listen to your body speak to you, understand how it communicates and above all respect your body.
Everyday is a new learning for me.. I’ve recently learnt that I have a fear of falling and that reflected in my Asanas. Sometimes I worry I’m going to fall if I can’t get my balance right and this fear holds me back from my practice. Acknowledging this fact and working towards it, strengthening my body and mind is the way I choose to move forward.
What you take in your body, reflects on the outside.
Knowing what to eat, when to eat, how to eat and why to eat is so important too. What is good for someone may not have the same effects for you. So listen to your body when it cries out for some extra Vit C, or maybe some additional protein some days. Have you been overworking and need an extra hour of sleep? Or do you need to cut down on processed sugars?
What is your body telling you today?
Lizard pose and its variations.
It’s an amazing hamstring stretch sequence.
Awaken the hamstrings and quadriceps too. Hold each position for atleast 12 counts. The longer the hold, the better your muscles stretch, the stronger you get.
Trataka or candle meditation
In this meditation, your eyes are kept open, while you focus on the tip of the flamed wick, at eye level. There will be tears flowing, a lot of tears. Maintaining a fixed gaze without a blink, even as the river flows, will deepen your focus.
Tartaka heightens focus and improves concentration.
The tears purify and cleanse your eyes, strengthening you eye muscles. This form of meditation relaxes and rejuvenates your body. The clarity in thought is more apparent, making way for self confidence and assertiveness. Some mental health issues like depression, anxiety and anger can be overcome by this technique.
Have a teacher guide you through Trataka to being out all the goodness of meditation.
As women, we all experience pain or cramps during our monthy periods. Some severe, some not so severe. But is pain nevertheless. We try to avoid popping a pill but sometimes the pain can get unbearable.
You can still avoid those painkillers and try a few yoga asanas instead. Try these asanas at home when you feel the pain creeping in.
These poses will aid in reducing abdominal and back pain. It also relaxes your muscles and calms your body.

Here are a few asanas you can try at home to help you relieve that pain when you feel it creeping in.
