Attention talented dancers ages 8-10: Auditions for the Advanced Youth Division at Bayview School of Ballet are now open. Classes are held Saturdays from 12-1:30 PM. BSB is excited to announce our inaugural production of The Nutcracker! Open auditions will commence in September for dancers ages 10 and above at Bayview School of Ballet. Key dates include a stage rehearsal on December 18th, 2024, and the performance on December 19th, 2024, which will take place at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts. We are thrilled to introduce Joanna Zhao, one of our esteemed alumni, who will be teaching our recreational division ballet classes on Sundays. Joanna brings a wealth of expertise from her experience with BSB as well as her participation in the Teachers Training Program. We are excited to welcome her and look forward to starting the new year with such a knowledgeable, warm, and caring instructor.

We are honoured to welcome Olga Posternak of Kyiv City Ballet to our BSB team this fall as our Children’s Division Director. With over 15 years of experience as a leading soloist, having toured extensively across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, we are confident that Miss Posternak will inspire and educate our students, enriching their artistic journey with her extensive knowledge and passion for ballet.

Master Class with contemporary artist Carleen Zouboules on July 19 from 6-8pm. Seize this exceptional opportunity to train with a leading figure in the dance community. Limited space available. Call to register today!

Carleen, a Toronto Metropolitan University BFA graduate, is a dynamic presence in the Toronto dance scene. She has performed with Côté Dansé, ProArteDanza, Red Sky Performance, and Zata Omm Dance Productions, and recently starred as Ophelia in Hamlet at The Elgin Theater. She has also danced at Fall For Dance North and in works by renowned choreographers.

On camera, Carleen has appeared at the MTV Video Music Awards, in the film Sweat, and in Eden Planted. She choreographed for Night Shift and collaborated with Vania Dodoo-Beals for a project at Toronto Metropolitan University in 2023. She also assisted William Yong at the National Ballet of Canada for Utopiverse.

In all her endeavors, Carleen is an artist driven by the magic of emotion and movement. From interpreting, to collaborating, to choreographing, she leans into the depth of movement and where it truly comes from.
