If youโre thinking, which should I start with? Hereโs a post to highlight the difference!
Both individual and Group Art Therapy can be helpful with your mental health. Both have pros and cons.
If you're looking for a more focused approach, where you can have more of a say on what direction to go towards, and the flexibility to dive deep when you want to, then individual art therapy would probably work better.
If you're looking to feel less alone in what you're dealing with, to connect with others with similar experiences, and to have the opportunity to support and be supported by others, then Group Art Therapy would probably be better for you. Group Art Therapy is also relatively less expensive, it's a great way to sustain your healing journey financially.
If you have any questions about what would work better for you, please DM us! You can also email us at [email protected].

๐จ Art Therapy Mondays: How Can Art Therapy Help With Self-Compassion๐
๐ Art As An Act Of Self-Compassion: Taking time to create can be an act of self-compassion itself, to allow yourself to slow down, to create and to express yourself.
โ
๐ป Understanding What We Need: A big part of practicing self-compassion is being able to know what you need right now. Art can be helpful to look at your feelings from another perspective to give you more insight into what you may need.
โ
๐ฌ Reduce Self-Judgement: This of course takes time and a practice of noticing our judgement, bringing ourselves back to the sensory process, being curious about the artwork, and choosing to be kind and gentle with our process.

A common question we get all the time! Art Therapy is a blend of artistic expression and psychotherapy. It can be a powerful tool for self-discovery and emotional healing. Art can be beneficial to help us access our subconscious mind and to help us understand ourselves on a deeper level. It can be a safe space to explore your inner world.
With the guidance of an art therapist, they can help you develop strategies to cope with what you're currently dealing with and to work towards your goals and who you want to be.
If you have any questions about art therapy, our team at Full Circle is more than happy to answer them!

๐จ Art Therapy Mondays: How Can Art Therapy Help With Perfectionism ๐โ
๐บ๏ธCultivating Self-awareness: Externalizing is the first step to tackling our deep-seated self-struggles such as perfectionism. It opens doors to awareness and understanding of that side of ourselves. ๐
๐ป Address Challenging Emotions: Perfectionism can be a tough defence mechanism to protect ourselves from uncomfortable emotions like shame and guilt. However, when we embrace and face these challenging emotions head-on, we can break down the walls that limit us from being the best version of ourselves. ๐ซ
๐ฌ Let Go Of Expectation: Creating โugly artโ is a great technique to let go of the idea of perfect and focus on the process of creating. It helps us develop the habit of letting go of unrealistic expectations and enjoying the creation process. ๐
