As we near the end of this holy month, Eid dawns upon us. It is a celebration for the month of sacrifice we have done in order to strengthen our connection with Allah.

8 am & 9 am.

Alhamdulillah we are approaching the final 10 nights of this blessed month. This is the point where we need to finish this year’s Ramadan off as strong as possible!

InshaAllah we will be having Tahajjud prayer every night for the last 10 nights, so that we can achieve our goal of making this Ramadan successful. We will also be giving out Suhoor as well, and then wrapping it all up with Fajr salah.

In this spirit, the *Muslim Student Association* cordially invites brothers & sisters to "*Sparks of Solidarity*," a bonfire event designed to warm our hearts and community spirit. Crackling bonfire to gather around and share inspiring tales of friendship, unity, and appetizing bonfire treats. Engage in fun and friendly games that will provide opportunities for networking and making new friends. Enjoy marshmallow roasting, s'mores making, light snacks, & warm beverages. This event is an embodiment of our commitment to stand together and support the muslim community at York. Open to Non - York Students as well. Attendees are requested to bring their own chairs. Make sure to carry blankets, warm clothing according to the weather!!

In a safe and supportive environment, you will have the opportunity to engage in various art forms, including painting, poetry, and journaling. These artistic outlets offer a therapeutic channel to express your emotions, heal from trauma, and reduce stress, all while fostering a sense of community and sisterhood.

The York University Muslim Students’ Association strongly condemns the recent acts of violence perpetrated by the Israeli regime against the Palestinian people which have led to more than 830 deaths and 4250 injuries which include women, children, and civilians. We stand in solidarity with the Palestinian population who have been subjected to decades of unjust suffering, occupation, violence, displacement, and loss of life by the Israeli regime.

We offer our heartfelt prayers and unwavering support to the Palestinian people during these trying times. In the face of grave injustice, we find solace in the belief that God is the Most Merciful and Just. Our thoughts are with our Palestinian brothers and sisters as they endure these hardships brought upon them. We extend our deepest condolences and prayers to those who have tragically lost their lives and their families, may Allah grant them patience.

The MSA condemns all forms of discrimination and firmly believes that justice and human rights are universal principles that must be upheld without exception. Our condemnation of violence and injustice is rooted in the belief that all individuals, regardless of their background or identity deserve dignity and the right to live free from violence and discrimination.

We will be having two events on Wednesday; Meet the Executives & Islamic Lecture.

From 5:30pm to 6pm, we will be having all the executive members of the MSA present for everyone to meet and get familiar with the new faces of the team!

From 6pm to 7pm, we will then have Sheikh Kamil Ahmed give us an Islamic lecture on Lessons from the Seerah of the Prophet (SAW).

Sheikh Kamil Ahmed was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. He studied at the Islamic University of Madinah where he graduated with a bachelors degree from the faculty of Shariah in 2009. He then went on to complete a post-graduate diploma in Da'wah from the faculty of Da‹wah & Usul-ud-Din. Upon completing his studies in Madinah, he went on to pursue a masters degree in 'Agidah & Contemporary Ideologies from Qassim University. His research concentrated on the New Atheism and its impact on Muslims.

YorkU MSA has come together with TMU MSA and SMILE Canada to bring you a brothers soccer event and sisters basketball event that will take place on August 18th from 4-7 pm at the Tait Mackenzie gym. Students from York University and Toronto Metropolitan University are welcome to join us.

The purpose of this event is not only to bring together MSA communities, but also to raise money for SMILE Canada in order to aid families with disabilities.
Registration for the event is $5 but you're able to donate more if you wish. All registrations must be completed by e-transfer to **[email protected]**
