🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ Happy Global Running Day! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Celebrate with us by staying injury-free on your runs. Our Physiotherapist and Clinic Director, Karen Tyssen, shares her top 7 tips to keep you running strong:

🔹 Consistency: Build your fitness with regular mileage and training.

🔹 Start Slow: Begin with easy paced runs at 40-50% max effort for 80% of your sessions.

🔹 Run Smart: Aim for 3-5 days of low to medium mileage each week. Include 1-2 speed sessions and a longer run.

🔹 Rest Up: Take a full day off every 7-10 days to avoid burnout and injury.

🔹 Gradual Progress: Increase your mileage by no more than 10% per week.

🔹 Strength and Mobility: Incorporate strength training and mobility work 2-3 days a week.

🔹 Listen to Your Body: Be flexible with your training. If you’re tired or sore, take an extra day off or cross-train with cycling, swimming, or pool running.

Run happy and injury-free! 🌟

The Lifemark team had an amazing time participating in this month’s Run for Women events across the country! 🏃‍♀️💪

Over the past few weeks, our local teams have united with a common goal: to raise awareness and funds for women’s mental health. Our Edmonton, Markham, Moncton, and St. John’s teams came together to run in the events, give away exciting prizes to our communities, and provide massages at our tents to support the participants.

Beyond working the tents and providing massages, many team members went the extra kilometre to help us show up on event days at our best. We are immensely proud of all those involved in making these events successful.

From coast to coast, we’re committed to promoting health and wellness in our local communities. Stay tuned for more highlights as we head into June’s Run for Women events!
