January 28th is your last day to schedule a pickup in Toronto (Leslieville).

It's with mixed emotions that we announce Hype Food Co. Bakery is permanently closing its doors at 1060 Gerrard St East in Toronto. After 5 amazing years, we (Pauline & Matt, Hype’s co-founders), have decided to relocate our family and will no longer be in Toronto to continue running the local operations.

The “Hype” will live on, but the current business model will change significantly. We will have exciting announcements later this year about packaged goods produced at a new location that are shippable throughout Canada. Subscribed to our newsletter to receive more details.

Almost 5 years have passed since we first welcomed you to our restaurant & bakery. Our main reason for opening Hype Food Co. was to make a positive impact on the lives of families that live with food allergies and dietary restrictions. Many of you inspired and encouraged us to keep going. We hope we were able to make it a little easier for your family to manage dietary restrictions. We understand many families have been relying on our bakery in the GTA for their celebration cakes, cupcakes, and donuts. We are sad to leave, but we continue to believe there’s an opportunity for someone locally to take over that side of the business. If you’re passionate about baking and cooking allergy friendly food, have an entrepreneurial spirit, and love to build strong relationships with other families that manage food allergies, maybe you've got what it takes to keep the momentum going with our local customers in Toronto. It’s time to stock up!

We’re are accepting new orders for pickups between now and Saturday, January 28th. Our baked goods can be stored in your freezer until you're ready to serve them. You can also “saran wrap” our packaging to help avoid freezer burn, in case you’re planning to serve them months later.

We sincerely appreciate the opportunity you have given us to earn your trust, and want to thank you for your continued support. We won't say good bye, instead we will say "au revoir" - until we see you again.

Impress Santa with your own decorated cookies! Sugar Cookie and Gingerbread decorating kits can be delivered to your door (Canada-Wide shipping available), or schedule your pickup at Hype. Family-sized kits are available online, while supplies last!

Between Nov 15th and Dec 15th, we are collecting Shoebox Project donations at Hype Food Co. (Wed-Sat 11am-3pm).

Shoebox donations bring joy to many women in the community and the team The Shoebox Project / Opération boîte à chaussures is deeply committed to reaching as many women as they can this holiday season. We hope to inspire you in the next few weeks. Together, we can help bring a little bit of hope and joy to women in difficult situations.
