Goldie Locks ✨️

So happy with how well we matched my client's hair color to her extensions! Not going to lie; I was a bit worried the color was off... but no! Yet again, I nailed it! (Not to toot my own horn, but "toot toot" 📯📯 😆)

I had my client come in for her color on a separate day from her extension application. This is something I prefer as a professional. You *can* have your color done the same day. However, I like to give the natural hair some time to have at least 2 washes before application of extensions. Not only does this ensure there's no product sandwiching, but also to make sure the color is exactly how we want it.

What we did:

♡ Color Services one week prior to application
♡ Wash and Style Prep day of application
♡ 22" Seamless Tape-in extensions on bottom rows
♡ 18" Seamless Tape-ins on mid and sides
♡ 16" Seamless Tape-ins around top and side sections
♡ Cut to Blend using Layering and 'U' Shape. This is my favorite cut for us short people! It takes the hair back from the face so the hair doesn't overwhelm features.

We used 3 packs of Great Lengths Tape-ins in total; using "Sandwiching" techniques and one sided tapes for finer areas on the head.

All clients are sent home with a Care Package, which includes instructions on maintenance as well as Great Lengths Shampoo and Conditioner! 💕

Dark to Light ✨️

My client came in with dark brown hair & old highlights. She wanted to go fully blonde!
I initially did a Root Tap Balayage, but we ended up with a full Blonde look overall.
Due to more brassiness in the mid to lower sections of her hair after lightening, we toned with a dark blonde underneath and thanks to her previous highlights we were able to tone with a lighter blonde on top to give her to look she wanted.
This turned out to be more of a Color Correction service, and therefore, I had severely underestimated our timing. So this was a 4.5 hour session!
She will need at least one more session to get that Blonde all over which she wanted. This ensures her already fragile hair will stay in tact and healthier as we go.

Full disclosure; my sweet client had decided to do her own hair cut at home with NAIL CLIPPERS! 😆 yup, I've heard it all now. I did blend her cut - not seen in the after photo, as we were running late already.

Today's Client wanted to brighten up from her last color session.
We did a Partial Head of Hightlights: sides, top, slightly down the crown, and nape area. This way, she could wear her hair up and still appear to have a full head of Hightlights 💖
Using Balayage in the front/top sections (framing her face), and alternating weave & slices for sun-kissed, but bold looking blonde.
Then, finishing off with a full head of toner to make sure the Lowlights and last session of blonde Highlights blended nicely together while still creating enough contrast.

We did some hidden Highlights in a dark head of hair!
These Highlights will brighten up after a couple washes; leaving a more Pearlescent White/Silver color effect ✨️

Parting her hair differently will either show more or less of the Highlights; as well as curling away from the face when styling.

This client had a bad experience at a different Salon. She wasn't happy with the Haircut she received; too much thinning around the mid-section of her hair, and too short.

Our goal was to add volume in the areas with too much thinning due to the cut and a touch of length to play with while she grows in her natural hair.

Because this client wanted something temporary while her hair grows back in, we went with a less costly approach. These extensions are low cost - but only good for one-time use. Therefore, when they're removed, they are thrown out. During our appointment, we discussed the benefits of going with higher end hair extensions. This includes the following:

Seamless Tape in extensions are a semi-permanent hair extension method that last last 8-12 weeks and are reusable for multiple applications - typically 3x with proper care. Tape in extensions are thin hair wefts, pre-taped, that get bonded in between your own hair and are bonded together like “sandwich” bonds. It is the most requested hair extension method in salons worldwide. This method is 100% natural, requires no tools or chemicals, and can take less than an hour to apply.
You can wash your hair, style and get blowouts without ruining your seamless extensions; as long as the scalp does not become excessively oily the bonds will stay.

One of my neighbors are running a menstrual product drive for Northern Indigenous communities in Canada. All products will be mailed to Moon Time Sisters Ontario.

Some menstrual products can be approximately $16-$45 in Indigenous communities... so if you think they’re expensive at Shoppers, count your blessings!
