Some of My Story

I was born in France and moved to Canada in 2007. My African roots come from Guinea where both of my parents are from and my love for music first started to develop. I remember all those vacations with my cousins, sharing tapes and VHS with hours and hours of music videos from MTV (yes they used to play actual music videos) trying to reproduce or even invent some of the choreos...fun times.

Around my teenage years I was heavy on French rap and joined a hip hop group named L'1JX. I was more of a hype man than a crazy lyricist, but I was having fun and enjoyed the few times I was performing on stages, or in front of a camera. I tried to pursue it when I moved to Montreal and created an international crew of rappers, singers and producers call The C-Tizens.

Then in 2013 I moved to Toronto to start a new life. New job, no more rapping and just wanted to enjoy my time as a young bachelor in a city I always loved from day one. I was mostly partying and meeting new people during my first year. One of this meeting changed the whole curve of my life.

I met Diego playing soccer with Hizola, that I had previously met during a previous Caribana weekend. They quickly became my party partners and friends. We were from France with a strong African background and love for the same music : Afrobeats. At that time it was hard, almost impossible to find those events in the city, so we decided to throw our own parties and Excuse My French 416 was born. A few months later I decided to grab my first controller from Kijiji and the rest is history...
