Week 4

Known as a living fossil, the ginkgo tree is seen as a symbol of peace, hope, and longevity (the tree can live for a thousand years) and of a more profound endurance - four ginkgo survived the blast at Hiroshima and are still growing today. Japanese tradition has it that if you catch a ginkgo leaf as it floats to earth, you’ll have good luck.
