How does auricular acupuncture help with Fertility and Assisted Reproductive Therapy (ART)?
Auricular acupuncture has many benefits in assisting with especially during follicular stimulation and embryo transfer times. Research supports that managing and plays a significant role in regulating for proper ovarian function, follicular growth, and .
The effects of auricular acupuncture may be achieved by:
💫 Stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) to help reduce anxiety.
💫 Altering the hormonal messages via the activity of the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovary (HPO) axis which is the direct pathway from the brain to the ovaries.
After an session, we like to place ear seeds or ear tacs on specific auricular master points such as: “Shen Men”, “Sympathetic”, and “Point Zero” which are considered to be helpful for addressing anxiety, , stress, and as well as the “Endocrine” point for hormone regulation and optimal ovarian function.
The ear seeds/tacs are left on until the next session - which is typically the following week- so patients can continue stimulating the points inbetween sessions.

A good piece of advice to remember.
Hashimoto’s disease (aka Hashimoto’s thyroiditis or Hashimoto’s hypothyroid) is a condition in which your body launches an immune response and produces antibodies against the thyroid gland.
Your is a butterfly-shaped gland at the base of your throat that produces hormones which play a major role in regulating your temperature, basal metabolic rate, and nearly EVERY other tissue and system in your body.
The antibodies produced as a result of Hashimoto’s disease damages the thyroid gland triggering an irregular release of thyroid hormones, often causing symptoms of both hypothyroid OR hyperthyroid at times.
If you have and DON’T know if it's Hashimoto’s, it’s time to find out. To learn more, check out Dr. Kate’s article here. >>> https://www.wavelengthwellness.com/what-is-hashimotos/?doing_wp_cron=1720538324.0624849796295166015625

Nothing better than being able to kick back and do nothing on a lazy Sunday. Enjoy your day!
There are several about and with it being World Infertility Awareness Month, we wanted to reitereate a few common misconceptions and why these myths are untrue.
💫 Having focused our nearly 20-year practice on , we have treated thousands of patients and can assure you that infertility IS NOT exclusively a female’s issue as we often see various infertility issues related to s***m health.
Statistics show 1 in 6 couples who are trying to conceive are affected by infertility and at least 40-50% of all cases of infertility is due to a male factor infertility. (NIH,2021)
💫 Another debunked myth is that age only impacts a ’s fertility – NOT TRUE! A ’s fertility can be equally impacted with age especially if the male partner is 40 years of age or older.
💫 Another common fertility myth is that you are guaranteed to again after your first child – FALSE! Secondary infertility is the inability to conceive a child or carry a to full term after previously giving birth and it is more common than you might know with the CDC noting secondary infertility to be just as common as primary infertility. (CDC 2023)
💫 Irregular menstrual cycles are quite common and do not necessarily lead to infertility. If you’re experiencing irregular cycles and have concerns, speak with your doctor.
💫 Foods affect fertility – FALSE! While it’s always recommended to eat a well-balanced diet there are no specific foods that have been directly linked to infertility.

Our Story
It was over 18 years ago that Ellice and Jasmine started the journey down the path of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. A team that worked well from the beginning able to support and compliment each others strengths and weaknesses, sharing the same priorities, passions and work ethic. The two embarked on Co-Founding Acutoronto in 2004. Beginning from the absolute basics they gradually grew their team to incorporate 7 just as creative, passionate professionals all helping to create the warm compassionate care that Acutoronto strives to provide.
Ellice and Jasmine both share a passion in women’s health, fertility, labour and post-partum. Starting from the early years fertility became a central focus of their practice as the challenges met by individuals and couples faced with infertility were both heart breaking and devastating. Their goal became to empower and educate women as they maneuver through their fertility journey. Enabling them to make educated decisions about their own health and fertility.
Their goal is to ensure that every decision made, is made with open eyes, an open heart and trust that with the right care every goal can be achieved.
