In 2020, reseachers https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pone.0241719 found levels of serum cytokine CXCL9 to be higher in collagen vascular disease patients with interstitial lung disease (ILD) compared to patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Our recent research https://rdcu.be/daAJ5 showed the same for patients with limited cutaneous scleroderma (SSc) and ILD. SSc is one of the collagen vascular diseases. CXCL9 promotes immune cell migration into tissue and profibrotic signaling.
