The rich history of chocolate cake began in the 18th century in America, when chocolate transitioned from being a beverage to being incorporated into cake. The first recipe ever published with chocolate being incorporated into the cake batter was in Lady's Recipe Book published in 1847 and written by Eliza Leslie. It's possible this originated even earlier, however the published record starts in the 18th century in America. ⁠

We are suckers for a good chocolate chip cookie an to celebrate here's a few of our favourite tips for getting that perfect chocolate chip cookie.⁠

1. As always make sure your butter and eggs are room temperature.⁠
⁠
2. Cream your butter and sugar until fluffy, this is a key first step to the base of a good cookie.⁠
⁠
3. Once you've added your wet ingredients and combined them, be care to mix in the dry ingredients, you do not want to over mix. ⁠
⁠
4. Once you've gotten your cookies on your pan, place a few chocolate chips on the top of each cookie ball. Who doesn't like seeing freshly melted chocolate chips on top of their cookies. ⁠
