Our sincere condolences go out to Federico Fuoco, his family and his staff at Federico's Supper Club. In fact, their loss is the loss of the entire Italian Community, Commercial Drive, live music and a loss for all Vancouverites. This Vancouver institution offered excellent Italian service and food along with live music to be one of the only dinner and dancing venues in the city.

It has been the pleasure of Nearly Neil and the Solitary Band, and Leanne and I personally, to dine and play there for a number of their over 20 years in operation. The team always made us feel welcome and part of the Federico's family.

I have enjoyed singing with Federico and his Dad, Johnny on a number of occasions and I hope that we will do that again.

From everyone with Nearly Neil, Dave Corman, Kyle Radomsky, Craig Zurba, Marlow Holder, Sandra Lee and myself (Bobby Bruce) and Leanne, we send our love and thanks.

As we go through these uncertain and challenging times, Federico's would like to thank all those who have supported us: our dedicated staff, loyal guests, partners, music artists, suppliers and online community - all of whom have been instrumental to the supper club's success in its 21 years of business.

In consideration of recent official health and government announcements, as well as our social responsibility to the community, our valued patrons, and well-being of our staff - effective today - Wednesday, MARCH 18, 2020 - Federico's will temporarily be suspending its operations, including the postponement of all of our special events, until further notice. We will continue to monitor developments and will maintain communication with our patrons, community and partners regarding our re-opening, as well as other information.

Management will actively be responding to emails and telephone inquiries every day during our closure with the goal of being prepared to resume business at the appropriate time. Although we will be physically closed - we encourage you to stay in touch via our online channels by visiting our website, following us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. If seeking Gift Certificates, we do have digital Gift Certificates available via our website. These can be purchased online and emailed to recipient, as well as printed.

Individuals and businesses will need each other's respective support to make it through this difficult time - and together we can. Take care of the elderly and those most vulnerable as best possible, while maintaining all crucial social and health recommendations. We too need to keep the economy and businesses alive, including the employees who depend on and define them, and as a united front we will come out of this. And please - do reach out to us for any events or reservations you may be considering, beyond these next few weeks, as something to look forward to and celebrate once we pass this critical period. Today is dedicated to and his music because it is so cool - from story teller to dance pop!! And of course because there is an upcoming tribute show on March 6 at the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver!

Let's trip back first with an original from Celentano released in 1972. This song is sung in English with an American accent but with deliberate unintelligible gibberish with exception of the words 'alright'. Celentano's intention was not to create a humorous novelty song but to explore communication barriers using lyrics that didn't mean anything and creating an Italian music cult classic.
