The Chop is excited to announce that Anita has accepted a position with Green Thumb Theatre.
Anita and Emelia have built this company since 2006, travelled internationally and put 18 new works in the world. We are best friends, life time artistic collaborators and we’re both excited to see where Anita’s new role will take her.
Anita will remain part of select future Chop programming. She is our Emeritus Artist.
Emelia and Chelsea are happy to helm the Chop into new places.

Meet a Sonic Elder - RON KOSAKA- Creator/Performer/Bass
Bassist Ron Kosaka started The Shades as a high school student in the 1950s and played dances around Vancouver for years. He has been working in the steel industry for the past 40 years.

JONI MOORE - Creator/Performer/Lead Vocals
Singer Joni Moore was known as Canadas Brenda Lee and sang at every club in Vancouver and beyond. She joined The Shades at the age of 14. She currently lives in Nanaimo, BC. Before Sonic Elder, she had not sung in over 10 years.
