Beyond energy transition applications, copper is one of the most widely used metals in the world.
In 2035, total US demand for refined copper is expected to be almost twice (1.8 times) that of copper demand for energy-transition-related applications. At the same time, copper refining capacity in the United States has fallen since 2000, meaning the country is becoming increasingly reliant on foreign producers to meet its copper needs.
