"The weight of the angry reaction is just one of the many levers that Facebook engineers manipulate to shape the flow of information and conversation on the world’s largest social network — one that has been shown to influence everything from users’ emotions to political campaigns to atrocities."
Five points for anger, one for a ‘like’: How Facebook’s formula fostered rage and misinformation Facebook engineers gave extra value to emoji reactions, including "angry," pushing more emotional and provocative content into users’ news feeds.

Tuesday’s Cabinet shuffle comes on the heels of Liberal MP Navdeep Bains announcing his retirement from politics. Minister Bains will not run in the next election and was previously Minister of Innovation and Science for five years under Trudeau and has been a Liberal MP for 17 years.
Replacing him as incoming Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry is Francois-Philippe Champagne.
Marc Garneau will be stepping in as Minister of Foreign Affairs to replace Champagne, as Canada eagerly welcomes working with the new U.S. administration led by President-elect Joe Biden.
Garneau who has lived in the United States for nine years, is very familiar with the U.S./Canada relationship and believes that there is no stronger bilateral relationship than that of Canada with the United States.
Trudeau’s Parliamentary Secretary, Mississauga Centre MP Omar Alghabra, becomes a first-time Cabinet Minister taking over for Marc Garneau at Transport Canada.
The former engineer who has held senior positions in the private sector and education, now steps in to take on one of the biggest and most challenging portfolios in transport. Minister Alghabra, will work to continue the dialogue with the airline industry. The industry has been pushing for a bailout package as a result of the pandemic, which has been hurt by restricted domestic and international travel.
Shortly after the oaths were taken, Mike McNaney, president of the National Airlines Council of Canada, which represents Air Canada, Air Transat and WestJet, urged the government for aid on behalf of the airline sector.
