The team had a great afternoon crafting Root Beer Floats for Children's Miracle Network Canada!

Thank you to everyone who generously donated today during our event. This fundraiser holds special meaning for Marriott, reflecting back to 1927 when J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott opened their nine-seat A&W root beer stand in Washington, D.C.

Join us tomorrow, August 15th at our Root Beer Float Stand as we raise funds for the Children's Miracle Network Canada. Root Beer holds a significant place in Marriott's history as their story started with a 9-seat root beer stand.

Our root beer stand will be set up next to our hotel sign on West Hastings Street from 11:30 AM until 2:00 PM. We will be grilling up hot dogs, serving up root beer floats and popcorn by donation.

Also, be sure to check our exclusive Root Beer + Chocolate Parfait at Showcase Restaurant & Bar featuring brownie chunks, house churned vanilla ice cream, root beer jelly + foam. $1 from each parfait sold will also go towards supporting the Foundation.

We are proud to partner with Vancouver Food Runners, a Metro Vancouver food recovery organization. We are committed to supporting our local community and reducing food waste, and our partnership with Vancouver Food Runners allows us to achieve these important goals.

In the first half of 2024, we donated 1,940 pounds of food, which is equivalent to 1,617 meals, and our food donations have mitigated 3,279 pounds of CO2eq from the environment.
