Self Confidence: Creating Inner Change with Meditation & a lot more! - https://mailchi.mp/meditateinvancouver/what-is-happening-this-september-2024
Thursday evening classes start Sept 5th with Gen Sanden teaching the first one!
Self-confidence: creating inner change with meditation
Everybody wants to change aspects of themselves. We want to be less insecure, fearful, lazy, angry, depressed etc. We want to be more confident, courageous, happy, creative and so forth. We wish for more success, more harmony in our relationships, a more fulfilling life.
But we find it difficult actually to change ourselves and to bring about the changes we long for in our life. Instead often we feel ourselves to be stuck in unhealthy and unhappy habits.
Buddha's teachings on the Bodhisattva’s way of life give real meaning and purpose to our life — to everyone’s life, regardless of whether they are Buddhist or not. By practicing these meditations we gain the self-confidence and skill to bring positive change into our life.
These meditation classes consist of teachings, meditations and time for questions. They are suitable for complete beginners and those with some experience.
Everyone is welcome.

End your summer on Bowen Island. Only a few spots available - https://mailchi.mp/meditateinvancouver/end-your-summer-on-bowen
A summer retreat on Bowen Island.
Fri-Sun, August 23 - 25
In this retreat, we will take a deep dive into emptiness, the true nature of reality. In particular, we will explore the emptiness of phenomena which is explained in a unique way in a much-loved text, Eight Verses of Training the Mind.
We will meditate on eight phenomena that we think about in a mistaken, or extreme, way, grasping them as inherently existent. Our minds that grasp at these eight phenomena are different aspects of our self-grasping ignorance.
Kadampa Teachers, Gen Delek and Gen Sanden will bring out the practicality, relevance and joy of this subject: our self-grasping ignorance causes us to experience endless suffering and problems, but we can cease it permanently by meditating on emptiness and thus accomplish the real meaning of our human life.
We will maintain silence during this retreat, to keep our minds calm and focused on the objects of meditation.

Dear KMC Vancouver Community,
Please join us on July 20th starting at 1pm for an opportunity to come together as a community for "Centre Cherishing Day" and end with a community dinner!
Together we can help our precious centre sparkle and help Dharma flourish! ✨
We will be rolling up our sleeves and clearing out a lot of stuff we have accumulated over the years that doesn't serve us any more. There are many small and larger jobs to be done and different areas in which you can help.
Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche has said that all Kadampa centres, including ours, are dedicated to all living beings. They belong to them, remaining in their service for all time, and can never be taken over by individuals or organizations and used for other purposes. Therefore, whenever we engage in an action to benefit our centre we are in fact benefiting all living beings. Through such actions we accumulate vast merit, purify negativity and receive blessings. ❤
Refreshments will be served throughout the afternoon and dinner will be served at 5:30pm. 💙
We hope that you can join us, even if it's just for part of it!
