Thanks to everyone who came out to tonight's screening, and especially to Mila Zuo for her fantastic introduction to Nova. In it, she made reference to two earlier films made by Cao Fei, Rabid Dogs (2002) and Whose Utopia? (2006). Re-opening the lid on DIM Cinema's candy jar, here is a post-screening bonbon: episode 5 of Art21, in which Cao Fei discusses both these films through her avatar China Tracy. Enjoy!
Cao Fei in Through a blend of documentary and magical realism, Cao Fei investigates various aspects of role play.
Unfortunately, due to technical issues beyond our control, all screenings at The Cinematheque through Friday (October 15) have been cancelled, including tonight's DIM Cinema screening of CROP + Dreamaway, which are postponed to a later date. Our apologies for any inconvenience caused. Ticket holders will be contacted and refunds issued. The Cinematheque looks forward to welcoming you back to the theatre this weekend.
Sorry, DIM followers, for having to postpone. Looking forward to watching these films together in the not too distant future.
