Powerhouse Pinball Club

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Powerhouse Pinball Club is closed indefinitely. This includes our weekend drop-in sessions, league nights and private rentals. It is effective immediately.

The reasons are complicated. Ultimately, it boils down to an issue between two parties independent of our club. Unfortunately, we have been caught in the middle. At present, we are unable to obtain the permits and licensing we need to continue operating and it is clear that the situation will be not be resolved anytime soon.

We appreciate your support over these last 2 years. It's been a wild ride. Let's keep those flippers flippin'. You will hear from us again. ♥️

Yesterday was a big shake-up for pinball at our locations. With the Substation closed, several new games went to and we got a fresh batch for the pinball club! Four fresh titles in the lineup! The Iron Maiden will be heading somewhere special. We will let them announce it...

It's official. We have closed the Pinball Substation permanently. We've received a lot of inquiries so I will try to provide some clarity.

The Substation was a very ambitious project where we brought the very best in pinball to Victoria. For the last 7 months, we have been maintaining these machines at a high traffic street level location to gauge Victoria's interest in this level of pinball. We also wanted to showcase what modern pinball looks like to everyone who hasn't been to our clubhouse or down the steps to the arcade.

Like all our projects, we tackled it with positivity and enthusiasm. We went overboard on details and over delivered on expectations. The room was beautiful and the games were pristine. Ultimately, this one just didn't work out.

At the end of the day, we understand that pinball is just a game. But like all worthwhile pastimes; it builds community, fosters friendship and creates space for healthy competition. For many of us, it's something that helped us get through a very difficult few years and that means something.

This is not the end. It's a change in direction. As long as pinball has a place in this city, we will be there to push it along.

One question we get asked all the time is 'Who is FUJ?' Well for those that have never met him and only see his initials on high score boards across the city....here's Fuji! We're fortunate that someone so talented at pinball is such a nice guy who is always happy to share his knowledge and love of pinball. Congrats on the big win tonight . Well deserved!

And just like that, Pinball League is back! After what feels like forever, we are excited to welcome our friends from into the clubhouse again every Wednesday night starting next week, February 23rd! Doors at 7pm $12 admission includes IFPA fees.

It's got a bunch of oddly proportioned fighter jets and some lazy camo to fill in the spaces between, all nestled in a claustrophobic amount of vacuum formed Mars-red mountain ranges. Featuring 12 modes, including one where you have to keep adding fuel or your flippers stop working. Come see if this beauty really deserves its #299 spot on Pinside's Top 300!

We've been having awesome turnouts for our mixed league nights. On Wednesday nights, we alternate between league night and drop-in tournaments open to all members. Pinball League is a great way to meet other pinball enthusiasts and get introduced to the world of competitive pinball. These nights managed by Dan and his team . We opened the Substation reasonably quietly so we would have some time to work through the inevitable issues that come with new pinball locations. Happy to report that we are a few weeks in and things are running smoothly. Added some new window graphics so there would be no confusion about what we are up to in there! Thanks

Didyaknow there were only 751 Rick and Morty pinball machines ever made, and one of them you can play right here at the Substation! This table has amazing music, callouts and custom dialogue from the cast of the show. The modes are challenging but the gameplay is fun and fast. Spooky Pinball really built a beautiful and colourful cabinet that serves the theme perfectly.

It was one year ago today that we dragged a bunch of pinball machines from Quazar's Arcade to the shipping and receiving area of the Powerhouse so we could play them while observing the restrictions of the time. In the year since, something born out of necessity has ballooned into something bigger and more substantial than we intended.

We wanted to take this opportunity to acknowledge the 500+ pinball enthusiasts in our club that have proved that you can help your hobby grow in your city by the simple act of supporting it. Special thanks to everyone who worked here, pitched in or came through on the regular to play some games with us and share your insights, enthusiasm and dedication to pinball. We do it for you.
