With students heading back to school and autumn settling in, we’re updating our hours! Here’s when you can get your game on:

🕰️ Monday-Thursday: 12pm - 10pm
🕰️ Friday & Saturday: 10am - 11pm
🕰️ Sunday: 10am - 10pm

Come hang out after class, unwind with your favorite games, or make us your weekend spot for some arcade and pinball action! 🎯🍁

We've had a moment to catch our breath so we felt it was time to give everyone an update. As has been widely reported, there was a fire today in the building where Quazar's and the Gamma Room are located. This fire appears to have been started on street level outside and spread to a pillar which flanks our entrance. It is our hope that this was an unintentional act.

The pillar that caught fire is likely as old as the building and we are unsure how long it smouldered, but Quazar's was completely filled with smoke when our morning staff arrived. Their quick thinking brought the brave men and women of the down to get this fire under control.

The firefighters had the incredible foresight to move our beloved games from the danger zone before turning on the hose, and it was because of these actions that our collection of games remains almost completely intact, albeit a little smoky.

We've had to close for the day to clean up and let the restoration people do their jobs. We are very thankful for all the messages and notes of concern.

We hope to reopen tomorrow, with renewed appreciation for this business we love so much, the community that supports us and the people who work hard to protect us everyday.

We regret to inform you that Quazar's will be closed today until future notice. We appreciate your patience while we speedily work to fix the issue.

Oh, Maimai!!! When we announced that Rhythm Games were coming to Quazar's, some of you noticed that it was plural!

Dance Dance Revolution obviously has a larger following since it's been around much longer, but Maimai is quickly gaining popularity. Tucked away in the back hallway, test your rhythmic skills on our second rhythm machine by tapping buttons and tracing patterns.

If you're not as coordinated with your feet as many of the people we've seen over the past two weeks on Dance Dance Revolution, then this is the game for you!

🦖 Happy National Velociraptor Awareness Day!

Did you know these fierce predators were more than just Hollywood and pinball stars? Here are 3 cool facts about Velociraptors:

Feathered Fiends: Velociraptors were covered in feathers, not scales, making them closer relatives to modern birds than reptiles.

Speed Demons: Despite their small size, Velociraptors were lightning-fast, capable of reaching speeds up to 64 kilometers per hour.

Brainy Beasts: These dinos were highly intelligent, with brains proportionally larger than other dinosaurs of similar size.

Super Punch-Out!! is a 1984 arcade boxing game by Nintendo and a sequel to Punch-Out!!

It maintains the original format but introduces new features such as the ability to duck, along with new characters like Bear Hugger, Dragon Chan, and Super Macho Man. The game saves and displays the three fastest knockout times, increasing difficulty as players progress. The player, a green-haired boxer, navigates the WVBA ranks, facing opponents viewed from the rear in wireframe. Precise timing of punches, dodges, and blocks is crucial. After defeating the final opponent, players win the Heavyweight Belt and defend it against increasingly challenging opponents.

The arcade cabinet has two vertically stacked monitors, with the top one showing statistics and the bottom one serving as the main display. Controls include a joystick and three buttons for left and right punches, as well as a powerful uppercut when the super meter is full, which is filled by successful punches and depleted by missed blocks or knockdowns. Additionally, the game features a joystick for ducking opponents' punches, adding a new dimension to the gameplay.

Trivia:
• Like in the previous installment, Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, and Donkey Kong Junior all appear in the audience.

• Leaving the ring victoriously may trigger a memory as Nintendo's Baseball home run tune was reused as one of the winning songs.

• An unlicensed port of the game called Frank Bruno's Boxing was released exclusively in Europe for the Commodore 64 where three boxers names were changed, with Dragon Chan becoming Fling Long-Chop, Bear Hugger becoming The Canadian Crusher, and Vodka Drunkenski becoming Andre Punchetenov.
