How cool is this?

"Edith Heath and Emily Carr: From the Earth" brings together the work of two artists who had a mutual understanding of the land as the source and meaning of their art. Both found a deep inspiration in the landscape—its colours, light, materials—returning again and again to sites that inspired their creativity and defined their practices.

We are open 7 days a week. Visit us to spark your curiosity! Find out more at https://bit.ly/38N1jfB.

Imagine Victoria, BC in 1858....

It’s a small town, around 500 – 2000 people. Most residents work for the Hudson Bay Company post, or in an industry supporting it. Suddenly, that summer, 30,000 new prospectors come into town. The harbour is practically overrun with miners, who set up tents where they can. Victoria is forced to undergo major development as a result, building warehouses, roads, and other infrastructure - including shipyards. The rest, as they say, is history!
