I’m ready to talk yall. I’m sure everyone has noticed that I haven’t been wrestling the past 2-3 months. Since I was hit by that car in Seattle, and from a previous wrestling related accident, I have been dealing with PCS, whiplash and a knee injury. I didn’t think I would be out for so long, but I have to admit this has been a painfully long journey to recovery.

I deal with chronic headaches and neck pain, and I have, so far, only been able to get back in the gym for light workouts. As of right now, I had to stop working out altogether again, because these headaches are just not going anywhere. I am doing my best to find a balance with enjoying life and nature, without straining myself too much. I am not gonna lie, I kinda feel helpless. I still have to wear earplugs most times I’m in public.

But at the same time, I have had time to get some retrospective one my life, on what I want for my future, on the values I want to carry. What I want for my future is wrestling. But I also realized that, the rhythm I was going at with my young career, didn’t allow me to live in the present and cherish the other things I care about.

That being said, going further, I want to find the perfect balance. What’s best for my career on this present day, first and foremost, is to heal. What’s best on the long term for my career, in the future, is moving out Eastern Canada, where I know I can find a great deal of success.

I have exactly zero idea on when I will be back. Concussions have, obviously, a very unpredictable healing pattern. I’ve decided that during this time, what I want to do is rely on my most important value, which is family. At the end of this month, I will be moving back to Edmonton to be close to my dad, mom, sister, uncle and cousin. I need a reset, emotionally and physically, and I know Edmonton is the place for me to do it.

From there I’ll do my best to get back in training, wrestle a bunch in Ab & BC, until I’m ready to make my way to Ottawa! I have so much more to say regarding the growth I’ve been doing the last few weeks, but I’ll leave it at that, on a more wrestling term, for now. So wish me luck and I’ll give you more frequent updates on my recovery, promise.
