A modern and transformative approach to traditional lessons with veteran musician and Voice Educator Amy Konowalyk. Singers of all skill levels welcome.
We are thrilled to welcome Alexandra to Timbre Voice Lab! Booking Friday lessons now!
Alexandra Berg is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, composer and vocalist who, in recent years, has grown passionate about voice education.
Having earned her Diploma in Music Performance of Contemporary Voice from Camosun College and the Victoria Conservatory of Music as well as a Graduate Certificate in Composition from Humber College in Toronto, Alex began teaching. But her own journey with chronic illness and the resulting Muscle Tension Dysphonia led her to further explore a somatic and science informed approach to her instrument. Alex is incredibly intuitive, curious and knowledgeable and is passionate about helping others explore their own unique voice.
Alexandra would be a good fit for any age or experience level and she is particularly at home in the performance practice of musical theatre, R&B and pop.
THE cutest!!
OH. MY. STARS!

Timbre is SO pleased to introduce Stephanie Sartore, our newest voice educator! Steph pursued a BMus in Piano and Vocal Performance at the University of Alberta before training in musical theatre at the Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria. She’s just moved back to the island after years of teaching and performing out east and you can find her on any given night singing with an exceptional chamber choir or leading audiences in belting their favourite tunes as an all-request piano bar maven. Steph is a dynamic talent and all-around wonderful human and will be teaching Saturdays in the Lab. Get in touch as she will book up quickly!

This teen’s performance in the passenger seat of his mom’s car is worthy of Broadway Watch him flamboyantly lip synch along with more than two dozen Broadway hits, from Hamilton to Rocky Horror. Watch her ignore him completely...
Over the years students have introduced me to repertoire outside of my personal tastes. Every once in a while, they stay in the back of your brain and pop out during a quiet afternoon behind the piano!
The afternoon light and mid-day vibes around here are hard to beat! If you have availability between 11 and 3 pm Mondays through Thursdays, we can slide you into one of our few remaining openings. Get some good breath work done early to start your day off right!
Wishing the city one happy love day! Spread the love, Victoria!
Enjoying a cup of coffee, listening to the bird song and soaking up some February sun this morning before lessons. I feel very privileged to be able to open my studio door directly onto this peaceful little oasis in the middle of our beautiful city!
When chatting with prospective students, it’s pretty common for folk to tell me they are wary of teachers who are classically trained...like me...for fear that they will attempt to cultivate that sound in their students. Here’s a quick video explaining my determination to help students find their own authentic voice!
Not exactly a snowpocalypse, but I’m digging myself out of the snow in Cobble Hill and hitting the Malahat to make it to Victoria for lessons today. If you’re looking for a committed teacher, drop us a line to chase away winter blues! ❄️ ⛄️
