Our Cub Pack completed our Vertical Skills program, under the guidance of Scouter Ikki, by spending some time on UVic's CARSA climbing facility! Many of the Cubs, and even most of the Scouters, made it to the top of the 55m wall!!

On Saturday, 25 November, some of our Scouting family will be joining the rest of Greater Victoria's Scouting contingent in the 41st Annual Santa Claus Parade. I know everyone is thinking about Hallowe'en, but nothing says December like forgetting you already ordered chocolate and then having it magically arrive while simultaneously supporting local kids!

Purdys Fundraising - Christmas 2023 Season Start a seasonal Fundraising campaign with Purdys Chocolatier!

Our new CEO, Liam Burns, is coming to Victoria on May 3rd. We are hosting a campfire at Prospector Group site in Goldstream Provincial Park (please note that the Group sites are accessed in a different location than the camping or day use sites)

I'm looking forward to attending the Vimy Candlelight Tribute at Veteran's Memorial Park Langford, Bc this evening. I attend every year, to mark the sacrifice of our Canadian men and women who have given their lives for our country. I am often the only person attending in a Scouting uniform, but I always have hope that some of my Scouting family will join in this moving ceremony for our honoured veterans.

The ceremony starts at the Langford Legion at around 7:15pm, and parades to the Veteran's Memorial Park for a brief service and candlelight tribute. It finished with a parade back to the Legion for refreshments, around 9:00pm (but parents are welcome to take little Beavers and Cubs home whenever they feel it is appropriate).

I look forward to seeing friends tonight!

Our Scout Group held our annual Baden-Powell Pot Luck Banquet last week in celebration of our Founders. We were able to take the time to honour the amazing achievement of one of our Youth Scouters, and the incredible contributions of some of our amazing Beaver Scouters!!

Scout Seeds Fundraiser by Scouts Canada Scout Seeds

I'm sending this out to all of our 7th JdF Scouters and to all of our Scout Troop families. I want to say thank you to Scouter Mark Morley for his contributions to Scouting in our Group for the past 5 years. Mark and his son are moving on to other interests and I look forward to hearing about those adventures in the future.

In the meantime, I want to extend the thanks of the entire leadership team and all of the Scouting families that have been affected by his calm and steady path while he has been with us. Good luck in all of your future adventures Mark, and we'll hope to see you on the trail!

7th Juan de Fuca Scout Group are selling Krispy Kreme donuts in front of the Real Canadian Superstore in Langford. at a cost of $12 per box, you help support the Scouting youth (Beavers, Cubs and Scouts) with this fundraiser. 10am until 4pm (or whenever we run out of donuts).
