I have been an active member of the Canadian Federation of Artists since 2015 and, as of July, 2021, a proud member of the Metchosin ArtPod artists’ collective.
I'm happy to say I'm back in the studio! Although I wasn't able to do much painting in 2023 due to what life had in store for me, I was able to "get back in the saddle" at the end of September and complete 3 Christmas commissions and one very special "thank you" to my brother with "Henry and His Stick".
I hope to do so much more in 2024--more paintings, more learning, more connecting with fellow artists in different venues! Happy New Year, everyone!

“The longer I live the more beautiful life becomes. If you foolishly ignore beauty, you will soon find yourself without it. Your life will be impoverished. But if you invest in beauty, it will remain with you all the days of your life.”

My piece for the Metchosin ArtPod's newest show: "Liminal Spaces: Art at the Threshold". The show opening is tomorrow from 2 to 3:30--please come and see!
It's a 20"x16" acrylic on canvas painting.
The blurb:
Portrait of a young man who has just completed his schooling and about to start his career—a time of transition. An exciting time of unknown possibilities but also a time of reflection and anxiety.
This painting marks a new direction for me as an artist—a time of experimentation as I take the next step in my development. This is my first portrait of a person (I usually paint animals). I’m slowly moving into abstracting realism in some of my work. I also consciously played with a limited palette (black, white, Naples yellow, phthalo blue and cadmium red) in this painting.
Please come and visit Metchosin ArtPod’s new show starting this Friday! I’ll be there at the opening on Saturday. Although I’m not a collective member at the moment, they kindly asked me to submit a piece which I have done (and will post a picture of soon!).
Live opening Saturday August 6 at the gallery, 2 to 3:30 pm! Come see the new show 🙂
Hey, that painting in the second photo looks familiar, lol! How exciting to be part of this wonderful show! Please come and enjoy it!
The Sooke Fine Arts Show will be open to the public on Friday. And runs until August 1st.
My contribution to the Metchosin Mushroom Nature cards. All the cards and mushroom descriptions are displayed in the hallway leading to Metchosin ArtPod. You can purchase your set of mushroom cards at the gallery PLUS take in the new show, “Field, Fish and Forest”.
I am so pleased to announce that "Bull Elk, Jasper" has been accepted into the Sooke Fine Arts Show! The show will run from July 22nd to August 1st and I will post more details as we get a little closer.
