Leave of Absence:
This event will require an LOA on April 26, 2024. Please submit your LOA ASAP. After the event takes place, you will submit your expense form to be reimbursed for your event/travel/accommodation expenses. https://sooketeachers.org/pro-d-expense-claim/

Cost Sharing:
If you intend to share costs with fellow teachers, ensure prompt reimbursement between each other for shared expenses during the event. When submitting your reimbursement claim, remember to include all receipts and provide details about the cost-sharing arrangement.

Pro-D Funds
Every Headcount Teacher (contract as of October 21st, 2024) has access to:
$600 in Pro-D Funds (for events/up to $250 for tuition etc.)
1.0 TTOC Credit
$150 for Pro-D Books

Non-Headcount Teachers and TTOCs have access to:
$300 Pro-D funds total (this amount INCLUDES your Pro-D book allotment)

As a growing local with increasing membership, there comes the need to add to our STA office clerical staff to maintain the high level of service our members expect. This staffing increase was budgeted. Now, we are ready to hire a part-time / on-call clerical person.

Some part-time teachers or TTOCs may be qualified to do this work, and we would welcome your application. The job description and other information is also available in the application link below.

The Tapestry Conference on Friday, February 16, 2024, is your opportunity to share your knowledge, passion, and skills about a K–12 content or subject area.

Submit your proposal at www.tapestryconference.ca by 9 a.m. on December 3rd.

The majority of workshops will be presented online and a few will be in-person at a variety of locations on Southern Vancouver Island.
Sessions may take the form of:
-Presentations or lectures
-Hands-on experiential learning
-Facilitated discussions & resource sharing
-Expert-led clinics
-Other formats will be considered

Honorariums are available for teacher-presenters.
