Vancouver Island Kart Racing
Vancouver Island Kart Racing is a group of Go Kart Racing enthusiasts that race competitively at Western Speedway.
As we sadly say goodbye to a place that has been a big part of so many people's lives we would like to thank a few people that brought karting back to the speedway and make it possible.
A huge thanks to Darrell Midgley and Daryl Crocker that saw the importance of karting to the growth of new racers and supplied the facility . The Copp and Reaume families for starting and running Victoria Karting. Cory Meeres and Steve Peckford for take taking their turns at running it . Aubrey Copp , Kim Ferry and Bailey Midgley Crocker for doing the scoring . Scott Campbell. Ian Walker ,David Street ,Terry Arlitt ,Quinn and Charlotte Pearson , Craig Roberts, Johnathan Reaume, Peter and Jessi Morris and Melvin Pallister Family for track set up . Kevin for being a great EMT and helping and many other ways . The original EMT that I sadly don't remember his name but someone will fill me in . This is just a short list that I can remember but to all those that made karting happen Thank you !
To all those that ran karts, crewed and cheered the drivers on . Thank you for your part in making 15 years great.
Thank you and best of luck to Vancouver Island Safe Speed Association for working on finding a new site for the Speedway .

Pit passes are $30 each session. We will be running Karting practices at least 4 times each night for approximately 10-15 minutes depending on kart count. There is no layout for this, the karts will be racing on the full size oval track.
We will use the practice timing information to make decisions on how the run groups will look for the May 21,22 and June 11 races. We recommend all racers who want to run the Oval Races attend at least one of the two practice sessions. Anyone unable to attend who would like to race the oval will need to contact the event organizers for prior approval.
