These shapes are nostalgic for me. I love the element of the unknown in the process of any creating.

Happy birthday my darling. My sweet, effervescent, intelligent, slightly nutty, always interesting, beautiful boy. We all love you. Every moment of every day ❤️.

I’m so happy to report that I have had a painting accepted into Art Victoria Now :).
If you can attend, the opening reception is Saturday 2-5 at the Bay Centre in the Mall. The show will be up until the end of May so pop by when you’re in the neighbourhood otherwise. BUT. All the fun people will be there on Saturday 😁.

“The far-away look”

My ongoing look at shape energy. I like to use shapes to tell stories. I feel like these forms are from the 70’s and 80’s that I grew up in; the wallpaper, the furniture, the lights of the MCM era that have never left me. The figurative in this work explores our struggles with identity and our penchant for social performance.

After 10 whirlwind days away from the studio (the longest time away in 4 years!) I am trying to get my groove back. So here’s an older piece I don’t know if I’ve ever posted. She’s called “Red handed”.

The sun is shining and my paints are calling….

A few of many photos yet to come. Our daughter Francesca and our new son-in-law Hamiz after their Nikah (Islamic wedding ceremony) . We feel very lucky to have new family to add to ours and will be celebrating all over again June 8th :).

I’ve always had an obsession with flying. It’s mixed up with a sense of freedom and being in a wide open space.
She’s not flying but she’s trying to.

Haha! I’m finding it so interesting that all the women I have painted lately are thoughtful, restful, pensive. I am in my napping phase.
