We are back with our August artist feature! Meet the insanely talented Lisa Joan (she/her) ! Read all about them and their life as an artist in this post! 🐻

As always, we asked the lovely Lisa some extra questions to expand on our feature with her!

1. If you could create If you could feature your art in any gallery in the world, where would you put it?
"I'd love to have my own gallery! That would be ultimate dream."

2. Do you have a favorite artist or favorite painting that has inspired you/your art?
"My 9 year old! She has taught me more about Art (and life) than any lesson I ever could have taken. "

3. You seem to paint a lot of incredibly beautiful animals, what is your favorite animal?
"Bear! Naturally."

It's International Dog Day today!! We here at Foxy Box LOVE dogs! If you've got a little furry friend, feel free to bring them to your appointment with us! It's a sensitive topic to talk about summer ending (we don't want it either) but it's also a great time to start thinking about laser. If you are restarting or considering getting laser, now is a good time to stop waxing or tweezing those hairs and switch to shaving! You need to be shaving for at least 4-6 weeks before laser so get prepared now and it will be smooth sailing come the fall.

It's our last business feature of the summer! This month we reached out to a very cool local business ran by one very impressive woman! Introducing and the lovely Shannon who is the owner of this clinic and a holistic medical aesthetician/skin specialist and a herbalist. The studio was born in late 2020/early 2021. Volta Skin Studio is a small medical-holistic skin clinic that offers facials and skin therapy treatments that are designed to be immersive self care experiences in a cozy, laid-back atmosphere. "My partner and I also have our own house-made organic skin care and wellness line called Nest Wildcraft (). We create unique formulas created with ingredients wild foraged by us, and grown by us on our small local family farm.".

1. Do you have any goals for the next year with your business?
"The exciting news is that Volta has a new location for October 1st 2024! This new spot is only a 30 second walk from the original studio and is in the shop-level unit of the Cook st Medical building. It’s got a couple of treatment rooms and a cute little lobby area where the apothecary/products and checkout will be. New layout, but same cozy atmosphere and style!"

2. How can we support your business?
"Volta receives so much support and love from our community, and I am so grateful every day! We have a new Vagician to introduce to all our lovely follows! This lovely lady has been working with us since the beginning of May, and we just needed to show her to everyone! Meet Nykyta (she/her), she is one of our lash and wax techs! She loves the Foxy team and connecting with all of her clients! Outside of work, Nykyta loves hanging out with her cat Bean and being outside both with and without her cat Bean. This cutie pie is with us five days a week from Thursdays to Mondays working both daytime and evening shifts!

"I don’t know if I want to have my own line but I would absolutely love to collaborate with a makeup company on a collection or a pallet"

"You can drop the brand (i.e. Nars or**sm blush) or just like say which product (like any foundation is a must) I am so obsessed with liquid shadows lately! The new Lancome ones are so pretty and I really like the R.E.M. beauty and the Chanel ones are my top 3 faves!"

3. If you could be a celebrity makeup artist, who would you love to work with?
"Julia Fox absolutely! Any day all day long! I absolutely adore that woman! Her book “Down the drain” is so good!"

For the month of July, we reached out to a superstar hair stylist in Victoria. She runs her own salon, and has done the hair of several Foxy Box girlies too! I have curated a playful vibe feeling like a mini vacation as I love to talk about travel, food and beverage culture and what everyone is looking forward to."
