Craniosacral therapy (CST) is sometimes also referred to as craniosacral therapy. It’s a type of bodywork that relieves compression in the bones of the head, sacrum (a triangular bone in the lower back), and spinal column.

CST is noninvasive. It uses gentle pressure on the head, neck, and back to relieve the stress and pain caused by compression. It can, as a result, help to treat a number of conditions.

***ATTENTION ALL CLIENTS***
We hate to have to make a post like this. There have been a lot of short notice cancellations lately. We get that things happen sometimes, and during the summer months - everyone is busy! but we do deserve 24hrs NOTICE, as we could give that spot to someone else. We are a very busy clinic, our time is valuable, we appreciate the heads up in advance if you can’t make your appointment.

Thank you!

CST is a gentle, hands-on osteopathic therapy developed by John Upledger in the 1970s. It uses light touch/pressure to create rhythmic pulsations and helps the body improve naturally. In addition, CST focuses on the gentle placement of hands to help release tension in your body’s connective tissue. This is known as “fascia”. It’s a casing found throughout your body that holds your organs, glands, nerves, muscles, blood vessels, brain and spinal cord. The fascia forms a body-wide connective tissue network.

The goal of CST is tension relief (fascial clearance). Craniosacral therapy may help you manage symptoms of the following conditions:

Migraines & Headaches
Back and neck pain
Bowel Movements (e.g. constipation, IBS)
Chronic Pain (e.g. Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue)
Ear Infections Or Colic in Infants
Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ)
Trauma Recovery (e.g. whiplash)
Anxiety Or Depression
Pregnancy Issues
Insomnia
Scoliosis
Sinus Infections

Here are some things you might be experiencing which indicate that it’s time to try a Reiki treatment.

1. You’re Feeling Tired ALL The Time
Burn out regardless of why you are so lethargic, Reiki can help by giving your energetic system a good clear out and a recharge.

2. You Have Chronic Pain
Whether your pain is an old injury, a new injury, or a full-blown chronic pain condition, Reiki can help to ease the symptoms. A reiki practitioner should be able to target specific areas where energy blocks are causing pain, cleansing these areas to release the blocks.

3. You Are Feeling Overwhelmingly Emotional
You might feel that you are on the verge of crying, overreacting to the little things or holding onto emotions. Reiki healing can help to balance your emotional state and stay better in control of yourself.

4. You Can’t Focus Because Of Brain Fog
You might be finding it takes much longer to get simple tasks done, with your brain working slower than usual, or you’re finding yourself confused without a clear line of thought.

These symptoms are often a sign of an emotional disturbance and Reiki can help with that. After a Reiki session you’ll find that you can switch your brain back on again and it will function better.

5. You Feel Depressed
If you are overwhelmed with negative emotions such as sadness, hopeless, etc. Reiki can help to get you through it and feeling more positive.
Negative emotions can block up our chakras, and an experienced Reiki practitioner will be able to pick up on the strongest emotions to work on an you can get an aura-wash which will leave your feeling brand new and clear of the heavy negativity that was holding you down.

The standard therapy for lymphedema of any origin is complex physical decongestive therapy (CDT). It comprises manual lymph drainage (MLD), compression therapy (CT), exercise therapy (ET), skincare, and client education.

Manual lymph drainage (MLD) is powerful in reducing the inflammation and improving healing. ✨

MLD is also very important post surgery with mitigating scar tissue after surgery, radiation and reconstruction and/or removal of surgical implants. Studies have shown that *MLD has a strong beneficial effects* by reducing the volume of swelling for people who have had breast cancer surgery (Kasseroller & Brenner, 2023).

A Western Reserve Hospital, an Ohio physician-owned hospital reported these benefits.

Reiki stimulates the immune system, accelerates healing, increase overall energy, helps one to enjoy total relaxation, relieves various forms of chronic pain, and helps with emotional stress and anxiety of daily life. Reiki also helps to ease side effects from medical and cancer treatments as well.

Reiki balances both the physical and mental systems of the body. Balancing your body as a whole.

💚In a noisy busy world, it is easy to get a bit lost and overwhelmed – lost in your thoughts or emotions or caught up in a big decision or situation. In these moments we need to find a way back to the present moment – and the process of grounding is a simple yet very powerful way to bring ourselves back to the present and centre ourself back in the reality of your physical body.

💚Reiki Practitioners and other energy workers use grounding techniques to end an energy session, as leaving ourselves plugged into higher spiritual energy vibrations can leave us open and more sensitive to picking up on the negative emotions and energies around us.

💚Grounding exercises bring the focus back to the present but also focus on literally reconnecting ourselves with the ground or Earth – to the floor beneath our feet – our connection to the stabilising energies of Mother Earth. This process of Earthing involves direct skin contact with the surface of the earth, which is brimming with natural energy and free electrons. When we consciously walk and connect with the ground we receive a beautiful little energy boost, complements of Mother Earth.

Reiki is an ancient technique used for stress reduction and relaxation and has been shown to have several benefits for both physical and mental health. It is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that involves the practitioner gently placing their hands on or near the body.

Studies show that reiki therapy may be useful for reducing stress and anxiety, easing pain, fatigue, and even improving your quality of life. It can bring about symptom relief and other improvements, like:

Help with meditation
Boots mood
Balance to your immune system
Improves headaches, tension, insomnia
Post-surgery healing of bones and tissues
Enhances quality of life
Support healing in those who have other medical conditions

Those who've had Reiki showed improvements in their sleep patterns, self-confidence, and depression levels. They noted a sense of calm, inner peace, and relaxation. 🌿✨

The medical system has very minimal education about the lymphatic system. Your lymphatics carry toxins from the body. When your lymphatic system is congested you hold onto toxins, leading to inflammation and potential autoimmunity, chronic pain, chronic swelling. Manual lymph drainage (MLD) assists with opening the lymph system and as a result reduces inflammation, pain, swelling etc. The end goal is healing and a healthy lymph system.

What causes allergies anyway… tiny grains of pollen from trees, grasses, crops, weeds etc. become airborne. When you have an allergic reaction, your body produces antibodies to fight these invaders (pollen) which leads the body to produce the histamines that cause your runny nose, watery eyes and other symptoms. Seasonal allergies affect over one quarter of Canadians.

Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is a non-chemical way to help the body better handle the histamine reaction. The lymphatic system is critical to proper immune function. The purpose of MLD is to stimulate the lymphatic system to move lymph through the lymphatic vessels and nodes.
These steps include gentle rhythmic strokes of the face and entire head, providing you relief. As always with Dr. Vodder's MLD technique, the emphasis is on gentle movement along the skin not pressure down into the tissues.

When to book a MLD session?
The best strategy to deal with allergies is to be proactive and have your immune system stimulated before the allergy season starts. Book a
30-minute session to boost your immune system today!

Why should you receive Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) before or after your orthopedic (ie: knee replacement, bone repair, carpal tunnel) or cosmetic (ie liposuction) surgery?

Often times after surgery, the body will swell with excessive edema both at and proximal to the surgical site. This post-operative swelling, while completely normal, can be quite uncomfortable. Sluggishness, decreased range of motion, increased sensitivity, inability to sleep comfortably, and an overall feeling of puffiness can often occur during the surgical recovery process.

Reducing post-surgical swelling is one of the most common ways that MLD is used. Because of its ability to directly move excessive post-surgical edema while using the most gentle of touch, MLD is frequently regarded as an imperative part of the surgical recovery process by surgeons worldwide.

More than one million Canadians suffer from lymphedema and/or chronic edema, a progressive, chronic inflammatory condition that can affect any area of the body, most commonly the limbs. Most of these Canadians remain undiagnosed and/or untreated so the number can be consider much higher.

Manual lymph drainage (MLD) is one strategy to help manage lymphedema and edema. Also nutrition, exercise and compression.
