Super intricate deer carving
Hey hey 👋
I really haven't been on Instagram or Facebook at all really, so I thought I'd share a little update. First, and probably most importantly, I'm okay but losing a finger has made doing things much more difficult. I've had to relearn a lot of things, and I'm only now getting my speed back. Needless to say this has been a bit of shock, and it's put me under a lot of stress. Overall I ended up losing about 2-2½ months of work and I'm still digging myself out of that. But! Moving forward.
I also wanted to share a couple of the things I've done lately
- a set of resin filled relief carvings (all handcut with chisels)
- Starfleet Insignia earrings in Amboyna
- a couple different tabletops (Siberian Elm and Honey Locust)
- a more alt version of the redwood fox pendants I've made before
I'll do my best to check in more regularly now that I'm feeling more like myself again. 😊
Not bad for 1 woman, 1 day, and only 9 fingers.
I'm heading out of town this weekend but finishing it up next week. Drawers and doors, along with some drywall, brick work, floating shelves, installing the hood for the stove, and getting the pot lights properly in place.
So happy to be back at it 😊
Hey 👋
I'm sure a bunch of you know already, but I got hurt at work and ended up losing most of a finger 😬. It wasn't fun, but I'm okay now. Surgery went well and I'm healing quickly. Looking forward to being back in the swing of things soon 😊 Sorry I didn't update sooner.

Pieces of Honey Locust countertop
Realized I haven't posted in while 😅 oops. This is one of the things I've been working on, had to do it I'm sections, final assembly to be done on site, because it's too long for my bench.
101½"×26"(minimum)×2" live edge locust countertop. The first coat of Dark Tung Oil is drying in this shot.
Waiting for pickup on this cookie display table 😊
The slab itself ended up at ~7¾" thick. The undermounted base adds some depth to make the storage area a total of 8¾" deep. Overall, the top of the table sits 12" off the floor, and I am soooo excited to see it with its eventual cargo! A massive will eventually be the centre piece of this build 😃 and the big that I am is thrilled! The clear acrylic will be installed at its final destination, I don't want to risk scratching it or breaking it beforehand.
Something VERY cool is happening. This is what happens when I'm allowed to do my thing 😛 Huge thank you to the client for trusting me and letting me have some fun with this one! BRB, gotta finish this by the 6th 😊
P.S. Those are 10" thick 🥰
Sometimes things happen. The original one I made was misplaced, but I wanted to make sure there was something there to mark his tree. So this is a replacement memorial plaque for my little brother.
Figured yellow birch, hand carved everything.
Miss you beano 💙
Spalted Maple and Honey Locust Child's Step Stool
Honey Locust doesn't get enough love. It's a strong, dense, relatively rot resistant wood with a beautiful honey colour and grain patterns that remind me a lot of Elm. The Spalted Silver Maple is dropdead gorgeous as the step, top and crossbar. Doesn't matter what I'm making, I will always consider using spalted wood. A few shop made walnut dowels for contrast and insurance, done and done 😊
Pentacle Wreath with Impression Jasper
Trying to make sure that all my get some representation this holiday season! This is gonna be living in bedroom through the season of Yule. from my yard, and for the and to give it some colour and balance.
No matter what you celebrate, if you celebrate, I hope you can find some peace this season of renewal.
Honey Locust and Yellow Birch Endgrain Cuttingboard
All done 😌 it wasn't a big deal to finish up because I took my time in the earlier stages. And other than a quick 600grit after the brand, I finished the surfaces with planes rather than sanding. I've found that birch REALLY shows swirl marks, but planes nicely provided your iron is super sharp. Gave it a good buff with a food safe finish and it's ready to go. I think this is gonna make someone quite happy 😊
If you've got someone that is just impossible to buy for, let me know in the comments or send me an email at [email protected] and I'm sure we can come up with something!
Step 1) remove all the clamps
Step 2) run it through the Planer
Step 3) crosscut
Step 4) clean up the edges
Step 5) put all the clamps back on lol
Gotta love an lol this and board is almost done now, and I have enough left from the first glue up to do a second smaller one aswell which is always nice 😊
I'm gonna let this dry, then clean up the squeeze out, square up the edges, put a nice round over on it and start the loooooong sanding process lol. Again,
Productive morning so far 😊 its a good feeling when you start with a pile of slabs and break for lunch with glue up in clamps.
and that will end up being a few
Ornaments and custom handles for a tap
Some of the stuff I got done today 😊
Steam Bent Spalted Silver Maple Star
I was messing with this for a while but I finally got it to a point I'm happy with 😊 I wanted to make something that has definite pagan roots without immediately alienating everyone else. I made the star irregular so it draws the eye, and the weave of the slats is based on celtic knots. I also went with Lapis Lazuli because it's a stone focused on wisdom and communication. For something that will coincide with family gatherings...this seemed like it could be help lol.
I love the hollow look, and the way it plays with shadows. I set it up so that it can be hung as an ornament (cause it's shockingly light) or used as a tree topper.
Only 1 available (for now) at
If you'd like one for yourself, head down to Pelissier and check it out. If people other than me think it's cool I'll for sure make more lol.
Birch slab with great figure being flattened. I don't want to disclose the project just yet, but I might drop hints for what it's gonna be. Almost done with the reference side, and my poor no.5 got a workout 😢 lol
Spalted Maple and Sapele Dice Tower
It sounds so good when the die drops 😊 This was a project for a friend of mine and will be given as a gift so I don't want to go into crazy detail about it. If you'd like one for yourself though, let me know in the comments!
P.S. Facebook doesn't let you put pics and video in the same post for some reason, so pics in the comments.
Apple wood is a joy to turn. It cuts so cleanly.
I love my rattle Auntie Kaylee thank you 😊
More intricate ornaments with some amazing Myrtle Burl!
I'm really proud if how far my skills on the lathe have come. I've become far more confident when it comes to working with thinner stock like the finials, and my eye for rounding has improved (WAY less sanding lol) Still a long way to go for sure, but these turned out so well 😊 I especially like the 2 where you can see the tunnels left behind by bugs (sadly they were the reason the tree had to come down) because it gives them a really unique character.
1) shot of the 5
2-4) Crepe Myrtle Burl and Black Walnut (3 and 4 are different angles of the same one)
5) just Crepe Myrtle Burl
6) Black Walnut and winter cut Maple
7) Amboyna (sap and heart wood) and winter cut Maple
Helping to get things set up for the holidays at I'll have some of my stuff available alongside other local vendors and the owner's own handmade goods.

I was also fortunate enough to get some decent sized apple logs to work with and wanted to share these two cool I made. There's a test tube in each one to hold water so they're great for starting cuttings and, I think anyways, look pretty good on a shelf aswell. Both available
Spalted Maple Modern Wall Organizer
Hey 👋 Our computer died lol. It's all good, it was old and we needed a new one anyway, but until getting the new one set up I didn't have the ability to get photos off my camera so I couldn't really upload. I've got it (mostly) setup now and I've begun the task of restoring and transferring all the files over....I have so much music it makes me want to cry 😢
But! It's set up enough where I can share this wicked piece. I pushed myself on design side of things to make something functional, 3 shelves and 9 hooks with a 1" hole bored in each hook to accommodate a clothes hanger, as well as esthetically pleasing. I'm thrilled with the results.
I textured the vertical panels by hand before blacking them and the shelves out with to really pop the in the boards. I'm pleased with the overall shape, the interior angles give it a nice amount of visual movement while retaining the outside rectangular boarder. The double on the back made mounting it a breeze too.
If you like the design and would like one for yourself let me know in the comments 🙂
I wanted to make something that would tick a couple boxes:
1) Be able to hold all ten rattles
2) Not take up a lot of space
3) Have all ten be easily accessible
4) Be something a little different that will draw the eye
How do you think I did?
I used some 2"×½" Siberian Elm for the rack and went with a similar design to a rung ladder. My thinking was that the pitch would allow each rattle to sit closer to the others as opposed to something strictly horizontal or vertical. Plus I mean, I think it looks cool 🤷🏻♀️
I'm gonna head down to this afternoon so they can take up residence there 😊 Huge thank you to them for giving this opportunity, and for stocking all sorts of sustainable, salvaged, renewable, etc. products. I didn't want to have my stuff just anywhere, but our outlooks align. We've only got one planet 🌎
10 Rattles finished up 😊
