Event is open to youth between the ages 10-17, registration is required.
Charitable gaming centres across Ontario have contributed to the incredible milestone of $500 million to local charities this year. Our charity is proud to participate. ๐คฉ

Last Friday was the first of many lifeskill activities for the students living in our Sober Living Student Residence! ๐คฉ๐
The students teamed up to cook this delicious meal together with the help of our support staff!
This activity is a great opportunity for the students to build connections between each other and for the meal to feel like a Family dinner they prepared together! ๐๐
New Beginnings has been out and about in the community providing youths with more information about our services and various helpful resources!!!๐๐คฉ

We were so excited to see the youths participating in the various activities that the Yard Game Olympics event had to offer! ๐คฉ๐คฉ
They were split into different groups and each group had the opportunity to play Badminton, Axe throwing, Co****le, Lawn Darts, Spikeball, 3 vs 3 soccer, and Potato sack race! ๐
Amazing prizes and delicious snacks were also distributed during the event! ๐๐ฅ
We want to say a huge thank you for Mรฉtis Nation of Ontario for collaborating with us to make this event happen!!

Last Friday we wrapped up our Second Half Day Summer Camp!! ๐๐
We were so excited to see that the youths had so much fun while playing different sports, learning about coding, and letting out their inner artists! ๐จ๐๐๐๐ค
Not only that but also every day they got to enjoy a healthy breakfast before the day started and they got a delicious lunch! ๐ฅฃ๐ฅ๐๐ฅ

This past week Dr. James R. Worling visited New Beginnings to introduce our staff to the Working with Adolescents who have Sexually Harmed training.
It was an interesting and informative experience, and it added valuable resources to our staffโs knowledge in the subject matter. Dr. Worling explained and touched upon various topics such as assessment and treatment methods, risk factors, and protective factors.

We had so much fun during the DiverCity BBQ on Sunday, and we hope everyone had so much fun and found it very informative as well!! ๐๐คฉ
There were lots of fun activities and food, and the performances were amazing; they showcased the diversity of our community!!

We are pleased to announce that our second FREE Half-Day Summer Camp will be from August 12 to August 16, from 9:30 am till 1 pm!
Throughout the week youth will get to play different sports, let out their inner artists, and learn more about coding!!!๐จโฝ๏ธ๐๐๐ค

Youth Outreach Program
Our Youth Outreach Workers assist youth ages 12-21, in identified priority neighbourhoods, in overcoming barriers by connecting them with the resources already established in their communities. We can help with anything and everything! Issues like employment, completing volunteer hours, applying for assistance, housing, food and clothing are just a few examples.
The 5 priority neighbourhoods we service in Windsor are:
City Centre- N9A
University- N9B
Sandwich- N9C
Forest Glade- N8R/N8T (East of Lauzon)
Drouillard- N8Y
Onsite services available
- Emergency food cupboard
- Hygiene products
- Laundry services
- Business attire for interviews
- Resume assistance
- Computers for jobs/apartment searching
*All services are FREE to youth ages 12-21
Youth Acquiring Knowledge (YAK)
We host an open cooking/life skills group every Thursday from 3:30 -5:30pm at 1049 Janette Ave. for youth ages 12-21. Participants gain independent living skills while earning volunteer hours. Contact one of our Youth Outreach Workers today for more information!
