Our thanks to Terry Hoknes for sharing this wonderful old poster of Kenny Shields & Witness playing the Bessborough Hotel in Saskatoon SK at the Castle Cabaret in the summer of 1976.
The photo is a little grainy and faded but you gotta love the hand drawn likenesses!
Across the top L/R that's Ken 'Spider' Sinnaeve, Daryl Gutheil and George Martin. The bottom row L/R is Bob 'Herb' Ego, Kenny Shields and Bob Deutscher.
This would be the last version of the Witness legacy before Kenny, Spider and Daryl would go on to form their new band in the fall of 1976 along with a couple of fellows from another Western Canadian band, The Great Canadian River Race. Those two fellows were Paul Dean and Matthew Frenette.
The rest is, as we say, Streetheart history!
And as many of you know, full circle would also see Bob Ego back in Streetheart circa the end of 1979.

Our sincere thanks to our good friend Ed Sousa for inviting us to be a part of the 7th. Annual McBowl Concert Series on Friday, May 24th, 2024 at Classic Bowl Mississauga.
Looking forward to a great evening of music as we share the stage with two of Canada's best, Honeymoon Suite and Lee Aaron Music in Mississauga ON for a great evening of music and good times.
We are certainly honoured to be a part of this show but more importantly, we are grateful to be able to contribute in helping assist families staying at Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada.
We look forward to seeing all our friends and fans in and around Southern Ontario and of course all those road warriors from various parts of Canada who might be considering making the trip as well!
2024 is looking to be an exceptional year for Streetheart, this is one of a number of dates we are looking at in Eastern Canada as well as our solid 2024 schedule beginning to unfold in Western Canada. We are most grateful to have been receiving the invites that we have and we look forward to busy travel plans in 2024!

Pigeon Lake Music Festival July 30th 2021.
After losing an entire year in 2020, it was good medicine for everyone to get back to playing again.
This is Streetheart backstage on a perfect Saturday summer evening just before our set in Mulhurst Bay, AB at the Pigeon Lake Music Festival.
L/R, that's Ken 'Spider' Sinnaeve, Chris Sutherland, Daryl Gutheil, Paul McNair and Jeff Neill.
2021 was a pretty special summer, not only for us but for all our colleagues as well as the fans; all of us looking for a return to the things we had been missing in our lives.
The appreciation for the return of live music events was powerful everywhere we went that summer. We didn't play a lot of shows but the ones we did just had this great feeling around them. Sort of like when you lose something but are lucky enough to find it again.
Let's hold on to that feeling, let's look forward to the good times ahead and remember the good times we had.

It's been a few years since we've been back to this venue but it has always been a favourite room for us to play and it will be a bit of a homecoming for Streetheart founding members Ken 'Spider' Sinnaeve and Daryl Gutheil.

RIP Myles Goodwyn.
All of us in the Streetheart family wish to convey our sincere condolences to Myles' family and loved ones at this difficult time. We also want to send out our condolences to the entire April Wine family and all their loyal friends and fans across Canada and around the world.
We were lucky enough to tour with Myles and April Wine in the 80's and they always treated us with class and respect.
This is a huge huge loss for the Canadian music community.
Myles was without a doubt one of Canada's most successful pop singer/songwriters of his time and his music and his legacy with April Wine will remain as an integral part of the Canadian and international music scene.
Godspeed Myles.
You will be missed but never forgotten.

The early roots of Streetheart.
Our thanks to Ken Kupchyk for sharing this amazing photo of a young Kenny Shields back when he was lead vocalist for A Group Called Mudd, a band which some of you veteran Saskatchewan music fans will remember from the early 70's.
That's Dennis Meneely on keys and Brian St. Goddard on bass in the photo along with Kenny. The other two members of the band not shown in this photo were Doug Rusu on guitar and Billy Bobinski on drums.
Saskatchewan, like much of Canada, had a very solid and active, six nights a week live music scene back then; a scene that gave musicians a chance to hone their skills and earn a modest living while doing it in hopes of bigger and better things to come from all that hard work and commitment.
Coincidentally, just down the road, another band was also making some noise and turning heads.
Wascana was another great Regina SK band that featured two talented young players of note, Daryl Gutheil and Ken 'Spider' Sinnaeve.
It wouldn't be long after this photo was taken that Kenny would join up with Spider and Daryl to form a revised version of Witness Inc. that rocked the prairies during the mid 70's till early 1976 when their paths would cross with a couple of fine musicians from another band on the Western Canadian club circuit called The Great Canadian River Race.

Century Casino Edmonton
Nov. 25th 2023
A huge shout out to the amazing music fans of Edmonton for giving us a stellar ending to our 2023 touring season.
We'd like to extend our thanks to Ashley Soper, her team and of course to the the entire production staff at the Century Casino Edmonton for a fantastic finish to what has been another great year for this band.
Props out to Edmonton's Bobby Cameron for setting the tone for the evening with a powerful solo set to get the party rolling. Edmonton has always shown such strong support for this band and Saturday night was no exception. We were inspired by everyone in the house; thank you for singing and dancing and making it such a memorable night for us.
As always, thanks to all those who came by to say hello at the meet and greet after the show and thank you Raelene Boehlke Johnson for doing the first class job that you always do for us looking after all our supportive friends and fans.
We've had much to be thankful for this year and the good vibes from Saturday will hold us over until we get back out there once again.

Our sincere thanks to one of our dear friends, Erin O'Mara for sending this message along to us a while back.
A nice bit of support from the amazing music fans in St. John's NL who we had the great pleasure of playing for once again this past summer.
It's always been about the fans for us and always will be.
The fans are who we answer to.
Awards and accolades are nice but they don't measure up to the value we place on the loyalty of our fans.
That support is the greatest asset this band has.
We will continue to set the bar for ourselves and challenge ourselves always to outdo our last show... until the day comes that we can't anymore.
But that day isn't here yet.

Cornstock '24.
With winter looming for everyone across Canada we thought what better time to give everyone something to look forward to next summer!
We're pleased to announce that we will be playing Cornstock '24 in Taber AB, July 26, 2024.
The weekend lineup looks great. Along with Streetheart the fans will get to rock out with headliners KIM MITCHELL, Headpins, April Wine, Trooper, Chilliwack and Canada's own, TOQUE.
We're looking forward to seeing all our Alberta fans that weekend plus a whole lot of R&R road warriors from across the country who we expect will be rolling into Taber AB for that weekend as well.
We'll keep you updated with info regarding tickets, etc. but for now, the Spider Entertainment Group has announced their lineup and we are thrilled o be part of it!

Oct 24/1947 ~ July 21/2017.
We hope that you will join us today as we celebrate Kenny Shields' 76th. birthday today.
We lost Kenny back in July of 2017 but his memory continues to live on in our hearts as we know it does yours as well.
For over 40 years Kenny was the frontman and lead vocalist for Streetheart. Kenny's compelling singing style and charismatic stage presence helped launch Streetheart back in 1976 and his legacy and achievements over the years with Streetheart has certainly earned him a place as one of the finest rock vocalists this country has ever produced.
We hope you will join us as we celebrate Kenny's life and legacy today.
We hope you will raise a glass in his honour, spin some Streetheart tunes and dance the night away.
Kenny would like that.

We'd like to extend best wishes and support to our friend and musical colleague Rocket Norton and the F**K Cancer concert this Saturday at The Centre in Vancouver for Performing Arts.
Rocket will be joined by a some of the finest players from some of the biggest bands that helped put Vancouver BC and Canada on the map in the 70's, 80's, 90's and beyond including Colin James, Jim Byrnes, Loverboy, Trooper, Chilliwack, Prism, Powder Blues, Lee Aaron, Headpins, Doug and the Slugs and Streetheart's own Jeff Neill. All of these artists are donating their time and talent for this most important cause.
Rocket is currently in a tough battle with cancer himself so we have the world of respect and appreciation for all he has done and is doing to help raise awareness and funding for cancer research.
Last year's benefit raised over $340,000.00 for the BC Cancer Foundation so we are hoping that all our friends and fans in Vancouver and the GVRD will join this all star lineup for an evening of music, friendship and support as we continue to fight against this beast called cancer.

A rare backstage shot of Streetheart circa 1983 with the late Bruce Crump and of course, the late, great Kenny Shields. We have very few candid photos with Bruce so this one is quite special.
Bruce, as many of you know, joined the band in 1983, recorded the Live After Dark album with us and toured across Canada throughout 1983 into early 1984.
Bruce came into prominence playing with Southern rockers Molly Hatchet and was a great addition to Streetheart both as a player and as a friend. Sadly, we lost Bruce to throat cancer in 2015. He never smoked and lived an extremely healthy, fitness oriented life so that terrible news came as quite a shock to all of us.
Spider mentioned that this photo was taken in Regina, SK and that the young guys wearing all that not yet retro Streetheart swag in the photo with us are all family members.
RIP Bruce.
RIP Kenny.
